as for types of vegetables - if you are going to cook potatoes in crock pots, use red potatoes only.
all other potatoes turn to absolute mush.

lay a pork roast on a roughly chopped onion.
Salt, peeper, little garlic powder.
Pour over one small jar of applesauce (unsweetened)
Cook for eight hours on low.
If you are feeling frisky, throw in apple slices around four hours in.
Do not put vegetable in it - it will be sweetish.
