Finally. Let’s start holding Farage to account for the relentless shitshow that is Brexit.
Because..
“What could be more elementary than asking voters to judge a candidate on their previous assurances? What more basic function of democracy could we ask for?”

Labour admits Brexit was terrible. Now it’s time to act
For years now, the economic situation facing this country has been buried in the small print

Portsmouth Independent Party members defect to Reform UK…

“Absolutely no national agenda, just purely focused on prioritising Portsmouth.”

In that case you’ll be happy to all resign and call a by-election. Right?
Four independent Portsmouth councillors switch to Reform UK
Reform now has six councillors and is the third largest group on the city council behind the Lib Dems and Labour.

This is how Farage and Tice reacted at PMQs when someone raised the issue of one of their politicians accepting bribes to spread Russian propaganda. Apparently it’s funny to be a traitor.

Government issues update on major leasehold reform for UK households

The changes could make it easier and cheaper for leaseholders to extend their leases or buy their freehold

Better with Labour. 👍

Ah! Yet another announcement about how the Labour government are supporting farming, with another funding scheme extended (whilst work is under way to produce a replacement scheme that will be more effective and fairer).

To hear many talk, Labour do nothing at all to help farmer...
Countryside Stewardship extended to support farming and nature
Thousands of farmers will receive extensions to continue restoring nature and farming sustainably, supporting long-term food security.

I notice all those brave journalists, Guido alumni, and Tory hacks, who manufactured a scandal - a dangerous one to national security, at that - out of gossip, supposition, and sticky tape, have gone ALL QUIET now the witness statements have been released and are exactly as the PM detailed at PMQs.

Pam Bondi has basically said anyone visiting the US is subject to arrest and incarceration at any point, if law officials deem the individual a “threat”.

Bang goes the rest of the international tourism trade.

"The impact of Brexit is severe and long lasting... austerity, Brexit, and the ongoing impact of Liz Truss’s mini-budget, all of those things have weighed heavily on the UK economy."

That is what chancellor Rachel Reeves said today.

ALSO. Badenoch claims China was unequivocally classed as a threat in 2021 review and by MI5 in 2022. So can she please explain why the Chinese Nuclear Group was still involved with the Hinkley nuclear power plant project a full two years later - nine months even after Cash and Berry were arrested? 🤨

Me too. The media will have to do lots of editing to make Badenoch look normal.

All those years of attacking ‘the Brexit deal’ rather than Brexit itself have helped only Farage. It was always Brexit.

A useful reminder that everything isn’t quite as doom and gloom as some politicians and parts of the media might have you believe.

So, around two thirds of the government’s Manifesto pledges have either already been achieved or are on the way to being achieved.

Here's me and my Grandad.

His family — and my Grandma’s — came over from Ireland. He served in the RAF. Both of them trained as nurses, helping build the NHS.

I'm the granddaughter of immigrants. Stories like theirs are part of our national story. I'll never forget that.
