As a proud working-class woman from the North East, I have come from a tough council street all the way to the Cabinet.

I will be a strong voice to unite our Party, take the fight to Reform, and deliver for our country.

When John Prescott – a Labour giant – spoke at Cabinet, ministers knew he had members’ and unions’ backing to put policies like the National Minimum Wage into law.

Give me that same mandate to deliver transformative policies and bring Labour’s soul to the heart of government.

I’ve spoken to Jewish parents worried about sending their children to university, heard from Jewish students about the fears they have.

This cannot and will not be accepted.

Labour is acting to keep our campuses – and our country – free from fear and free from hate.

Our members do the hard yards to secure Labour governments — the door knocking, the phonebanking, the envelope-stuffing.

They rightly want us to deliver good Labour policies of which they can be proud, and want a strong voice for them at the Cabinet table.

That’s what I’ll be.
