Australia's humpback whales are doing so well that their population is expected to reach carrying capacity and plateau in the near future--they have not just reached but exceeded pre-whaling numbers. For this to happen with such a long-lived, slow-reproducing species is near miraculous. #goodnews

Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.

ok so for those curious or who did not watch the debate, right before this cuomo asked Mamdani to renounce his Ugandan citizenship bc there was some leader over there who hates "people who are gay". Mamdani said had he known that leader was anti-LGBTQ, he would not have associated with them.

wow. zohran brought one of cuomo’s accusers, charlotte bennett, to the mayoral debate. he asked cuomo what he would say to his 13 accusers of sexual harassment. cuomo said it takes “a certain level of maturity to work in government” and that the cases were resolved anyway. fucking scum.
