I make my kid journal regularly. My kid hates journaling. I asked my kid if they would be okay with AI writing their journal entries. They agreed to write a short journal entry 3x a week. To quote them “I hate writing but I hate ChatGPT more.”
Do the thing you hate. It’s keeping you human.

IU previously directed the Indiana Daily Student to stop printing news coverage in our newspaper. Upon pushback, the university fully cut print, including our special editions. The IDS was not involved in the decision.

Media School Dean David Tolchinsky sent the order to IDS leadership in an email responding to its appeal that the school not censor the newspaper. And the dean attributed the decision to “the campus.” He has not yet responded to a message for clarification.

So a couple people have now hinted at the idea that Black people didn’t have it so bad post-9/11 because Muslims had it bad. This ignores that there were and are a lot of Black Muslims. This also ignores that more than one group of people can be targeted for state violence. It’s never just one group

Black people can be Black and only Black.

The way that our full identities are dismissed is exhausting. You see it when people try to separate Black ppl from the LGBTQIA+ community. Or when it’s time to discuss ICE. Everyone understands intersectionality until it comes to us.

There’s a reason why girls who are bullies in middle school wind up with an RN after their name. They go from playing “keep away” with a classmate’s inhaler to putting “non-compliant” in a patient’s chart for asking questions about a prescription.

Yes. They've been playing out versions of these revenge fantasies in real life at their jobs & in their communities against actual people. An unchecked box here, a passed over promotion there. But that harm won't get a headline.
