I'll be posting something about this tomorrow...technically it's a bit outside of my official "healthcare policy" wheelhouse but come on...nutrition and starvation are definitely healthcare related...
Well, would you look at this? Super Majority of SNAP recipients are White, “native born” & majority have a HS or GED education. Sounds a lot like the majority of white Trump voters. WHO KNEW???

Has the Senate okayed Johnson's current adjournment?

Rep. Burlison's congressional district (MO-7) gets about $4.8 billion in federal spending that comes from taxpayers, but if he wants to reject that on behalf of his truly independent and freedom-loving constituents, he can send it back anytime.
Rep. Eric Burlison dismisses the "No Kings" rallies by claiming that most of the protesters "are dependent in some way, shape, or form [on] the federal government": "They're not taxpayers, they're tax recipients."

At a time of multiple international crises, the Pentagon’s official positions will be relayed by Timcast, The Epoch Times, LindellTV and the Gateway Pundit, which means that many people simply won’t believe Pentagon statements at all. Which might be the point

The government is shut down because Trump stooges want to double health insurance costs for struggling Americans.

And now, because Mike Johnson hasn't even had House Republicans show up for work since Sept. 19, many of those Americans are losing food benefits.

Bynum: If you can find money to send $40 billion to Argentina but you can’t find money for food for kids and seniors, I have a problem with that. If you can find money for two airplanes for Kristi Noem, then you can find money to feed American children and seniors.

If you make 130% of the federal poverty level, you qualify for SNAP.

A family of four, making $40,560, qualifies for SNAP benefits meaning thousands of Missouri teachers qualify.

I’m tired of the bullshit. Most of the people who receive snap benefits work.

Millions of Americans are already learning that their health insurance costs for 2026 are going way up.

I want to hear from you so we can make this impossible for the GOP to ignore the consequences of their policies.

If your premiums are going up, reply below and please share your story.

This is it. Word slurry formed into answer-shaped chunks. This is what Sam Altman says is now smarter than we are.
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

To all those “Let them go without food for a month, maybe they’ll get a job” people: Most SNAP recipients have jobs. Exploitative jobs that keep them living just below the poverty line. — Should they starve to death? And then what?

That’s $500 million lost per day
Every $1 invested in SNAP generates $1.80 in local economic activity. Without SNAP, that will mean a loss of $15 billion to the US economy just in November alone.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
