Counterpoint - one person who has been appointed to represent the first born son of a woman who was the eldest daughter of a guy who happened to get a job because his brother wanted to marry a woman who had been married before should not personally decide what laws AoNZ has.

I've been moaning here this arvo so here's my cousin's gorgeously floofy dog to make up for it.
I love her.
An extremely floofy sandy coloured dog sitting very nicely to attention, smiling an open mouthed smile. She's the goodest of good dogs.

the year is 2030. a doctor solemnly informs you that you have plastic in your testicles bc millions of people persuaded by celebrity marketing bought synthetic pubic hairs that were eventually consumed by fish that you ate
The Daily Beast writes: "Kim Kardashian's brand SKIMS has sold out its synthetic pubic hair thongs and is now accumulating a waitlist for the product." Their tweet is accompanied by a link to a post with the story.

Also, will these home bakers be supported in registering their new businesses? Comply with business taxation rules etc?

These regulations were in place for a reason. Commercial kitchens have particular hygiene standards that must be adhered to. I get wanting to bake for ppl, but for public health reasons I’m not so keen on this

Working on climate change is skipping like a stone over sentences like "A new study analysing 49 years of data from 20 sites indicated carbon is being emitted because trees are dying and decaying faster than they can be replaced." every day while people with power do everything to make it worse.
Australia's tropical trees emit more carbon than they absorb: study
Climate change is killing trees faster than they can be replaced leading to greater carbon emissions, according to a new study.

Do I need to say that people love cats? No.

People love cats.
A small cat statue sitting on some bricks looking upwards. A black cat outline (with yellow eyes) sitting in an empty terracotta pot. A statue of a cat licking it's paw. Sitting in some grasses and other plants. The weirdest fucking looking cat you have ever seen. This shit is CREEPY. It is looking up and grinning like some terrifying weirdo. Sitting in a floor of mulched leaves.

I spent a couple of years working as a gardening contractor a while ago. Good work, nice people (generally). I was also always interested in the non-plant ornaments people chose for their gardens. So, some favourites.

Starting with the iron goat. Made from roofing iron.
A sculpture of a goat, made out of roofing iron facing towards the camera. The iron is somewhat rusted on the goats coat giving it colour. A hedge row and planter box are in the back ground. Elisabeth apologises that the new website isn't live yet... she's still working on her task list.

In the meantime, if you want to get your hands on one of our 2026 Calendars, Ryan has thoughtfully listed a few on Felt.

It’s amazing to me that the Covid period was less damaging to jobs than the current economic policies.

Here's the job ads online index - adjusted for working-age population. Good news is that we've stopped falling. Bad news: we're back to 2012 - a low point in the economic cycle. We are facing years of stagnation / slow recovery without some kind of large, strategic intervention. [2/3]
