RIP Jane Goodall. A remarkable life. An inspiration to many, especially women who embarked on their own journeys in field biology and wildlife conservation upon reading about her life and her work. Indeed, we all have our part in looking after our planet. Do some good today and make a difference.

This is as useful an essay as everyone sharing it has already said, which is to say, very useful to think with.

VB can pound sand. This is a Norfolk ride.
Yup. And if you go clockwise, you can minimize crossings. I’ve test rode it in the past.
How are they on bike lanes though?
I so wish Norfolk had a mayor who cared about cyclists like Paris’s does.

Never have I heard a public statement from Norfolk’s Mayor Alexander about traffic violence or road safety.
Il y a un an, Paul Varry était assassiné à vélo, violemment percuté par un automobiliste. Un acte d'une violence insupportable. Un crime odieux qui nous a toutes et tous bouleversés.
I've thought the same. Here's a loop about 20 miles that sticks to the alleged Strategic Bike Plan. The ride could be in May.

Without street parking, surface lots, and parking garages, Oslo’s busiest shopping district is left abandoned. Only robust transit, bike paths, scooters, and tons of places to sit remain. Sad. #BanCars

That’s crazy. I wonder what happened in January
Fighting words. Gorgonzola is delicious too. Your palette is soft like Brie.

Wouldn’t know about the McRib, I never ate one.
Granby St can’t be finished soon enough.
Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says — Streetsblog USA
Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikes and people in cars and on foot, a new study of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

“It is highly energy-efficient, costs almost nothing, reduces congestion and pollution, and obviates the need for huge car parks… the humble bicycle.”
Safety challenges will slow the readoption of the bicycle. Still, in cities that have made them mainstream, the idea of going back to car-clogged streets is considered ridiculous
