Caffeine is current helping bouncing between thinking about different projects I have.

Pros: Helps avoid bad brain. Taking inventory. Noting tweaks or additions that can be put into the projects.

Cons: The motivation is assume it will encourage people to reward my extra efforts beyond my dayjob.

@brandtandstein.com IMO 1am-5am is a transition place for most people. Not really a 1st(home), not 2nd(job), or 3rd(community) place. But a 4th place(transition) that is almost over the edge of being liminal in terms of social expections instead the usual liminal space in physical composure/usage.

Yet there are schools COMPLETELY BANNING LIBRARIES FROM THEIR ENTIRE STUDENT BODY.

Public school parents overwhelmingly trust the curation of library professionals.

When we enroll our children at a school, we assume the school will give them every opportunity to access the same resources available to other students without unnecessary barriers to entry.

We are still working on gathering data from across the state, but the trends that we saw the last three years don’t appear to have changed much regarding public school parents and their desire (or lack thereof) to restrict their children’s library access.

When the district assumes parents will want their children to access the library (most districts do), there’s usually less than 1% of parents choosing to set restrictions. While this data only reflects seven districts, six of seven (yes, we know what we did there) are “red” districts politically and the four with 100% access are very “red.”

Those that know that state well, also know that Sarasota and Hernando are also considered very “red” and they also have a lot of special interest activity and influence in their districts. These districts created a policy where they don’t want to assume to know what parents want, so the default denies students access to resources otherwise made available to the majority of students that have gained parent permission.

Sarasota’s form is part of the annual electronic paperwork that parents must complete, so they were able to retain 92.7% of returned forms. If parents completed the form in the past, the prior selection remains in the system until a parent makes a change. Hernando is a different story, and it’s why they only have 51.56% of forms turned in.

Denying library access until a form is turned in creates an unnecessary barrier to entry for students.

The truth cannot be denied: public school parents overwhelmingly trust the curation of library professionals. When we enroll our children at a school, we assume the school will give them every opportunity to access the same resources available to other students.

Roberto, the great hammerhead shark, explores the ruins of an ancient museum destroyed by Typhon's storm. He holds a flashlight and carries a mysterious human spirit in his backpack, who accompanies him in silence.

The place, shrouded by the phenomenon called “cursed salt mist”, is covered in a permanent fog. Salt crystals sprout everywhere and a supernatural presence seem to lurk among the rubble.

The spirit that accompanies Roberto is liquid and translucent. Sometimes little tropical fish of extinct species float around him, as if attracted by his presence.

The museum's architecture is full of organic curves and ornate tiles. Decorated columns show a crab with a human face holding the moon between its pincers, an ancient symbol of a historical figure revered by the sharkfolk.

A cozy little shark bistro nestled among lots of plants.

A little harbor village of Gourdlets among a cozy grove of trees, carrying out various cooperative activities related to fishing and recreation, there are little colorful fish and a shark swimming peacefully in the sea.

An allegory of the "Jaws" movie poster that caused damage and negative stereotypes to the image of sharks that persist to this day (I'm glad it's slowly changing, but it's still too slow to be considered forgivable). Now with a reversal of roles, with the human victim replaced by a simple wild shark and the terrible stereotyped shark replaced by a monstrous human skull seeming to want to devour the shark (this is the reality, we kill thousands of sharks every year, many of them killed for irrational reasons, who is the real cruel killer?)
