The wildest thing for me as a parent is seeing how so much of the pop culture that dominates my kids' schools all comes from abroad (K-pop, anime/manga, F1, European/international soccer…). Not a new thing either as this has been the case for almost a decade.

The Minneapolis police response to having allowed Mariah Samuels to be murdered is to lie to elected officials and the media about it.

Deputy Chief of Investigations Emily Olson said Samuels did not wish to pursue criminal charges against Wright following her assault, which police relayed to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

“We would still investigate, but it does not take priority when the victim does not want to prosecute,” she said.

However, no available records indicate that Samuels ever opposed criminal charges against Wright. Relatives and those with direct knowledge of the case insist that Samuels was fully cooperative with authorities and dispute that she ever made such a claim.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office told the Star Tribune that information was never communicated to their staff. Nor is victim involvement always required if the case is provable.

Minneapolis police never submitted a case to prosecutors for potential charges.

Target employees being laid off received an email at 8 a.m. Tuesday, instructing them to join a 9 a.m. audio call with human resources.

That call was supposed to outline important information, but the audio did not work for half of it, two employees said.

More than 800 Twin Cities employees part of Target layoffs

Minneapolis deserves a mayor who doesn’t mislead us about policing. My heart still aches for Amir Locke & his family. Four years ago, Jacob Frey claimed to have ended no-knock warrants. He didn’t. And an innocent man then lost his life during the execution of a no-knock warrant.

Mojo Nixon used to have a show on nascar radio on Saturday night called Manifold Destiny. It was by far my favorite one on that channel. I called into it once. Anyways, he was in the Mario Brothers movie, and it was both super random and also the least weird part of that movie.
