I was talking to my therapist about how much I hate that my mental health is hinged upon the stability of my finances, and when I said that out loud I realized that was asinine.

We're talking about livelihood and quality of life. Of course, that being unstable would cause depression and anxiety

I know of at least 3 different names my great-grandfather went by, and 3 my grandfather went by, as they fought for labor rights and worked for the Communist party.

Why does this matter?

Because people changed their names in order to deter discrimination. This went on for a good long while. I literally only learned some of my relatives actual first names a few years ago, while I was doing genealogy shit.

I don't understand why U.S. reporters so regularly seem to let politicians get away with 'I haven't seen that' about stuff a) they obviously know and b) is directly relevant to their job. Did they sign some kind of agreement never to ask a follow-up question?
