I watched Boots for the plot
that surreal, blurred line between parenting weans one day then diving into a film festival the next is very relatable 🥴 juggling a 3yo and 10mo myself and it never stops being weird trying to dissect arthouse movies while getting pooped on

Is the United States an oligarchy?

Yes. Yes it is.

Just got home. Showed my college students McQueen’s LOVERS ROCK tonight. First time seeing it since SINNERS and there’s some overlap. One of my bright students brought that up.

I really hope the AI bubble bursts soon. So sick and tired of them shoving it into everything whether it makes sense or not.
This looks so funny 🤌🏻
If you're in New York, you've got two chances to see the movie my wife co-wrote and co-directed, "This Will Never Work"

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is so beautifully dated, but the season one episode about Willow getting a AI boyfriend feels very relevant
Willow Saying he’s so smart Buffy Willow saying, and he’s romantic and we agree about everything
NEW REVIEW — Lilly Singh's #DoinIt isn't exactly up for an Oscar, but the goofy sex comedy from #SXSW opens in theaters this weekend and could be exactly what you're in the mood for. www.mediaversityreviews.com/film-reviews...

One of these rich dudes invested in a food company with all proceeds going to kids in need. The other started Sundance Institute, boosting the lives of countless artists. Hey modern rich dudes, don't be a typical greedy AI crypto-prick, be like these two.

Don’t normalize this shit. It’s an affront. The last thing we want is for something like this to be financially successful or make waves in any way. If the “test case” benefits those bankrolling it, where does this stop? Do we get a fake “original” cut of GREED next?
Orson Welles’ Lost Movie Will Use AI to Reconstruct Missing 43 Minutes
Amazon-backed firm Showrunner, led by Edward Saatchi, is using the film as a test case for how Hollywood can overhaul production. The results won't be commercialized — the tech giant hasn't obtained r...

Things are pretty bad right now and we need to take joy wherever we can, so here is a picture of Jack McBrayer and Alexander Skarsgard holding hands and being best friends.
Jack McBrayer and Alexander Skarsgard holding hands while standing on the field in a stadium. McBrayer is smiling or in the middle of laughing while Skarsgard is looking at the camera. They are adorable.

@angryblacklady.bsky.social also mentioned BETTER OFF TED as her answer to that question.

Which is why I'm watching BETTER OFF TED right now, and being reminded of how clever and hilarious it is, how Portia de Rossi as Veronica is the absolute best, and that this show deserved five more seasons.
