An appropriate counter-slogan for MAGA at this late date is something like “Are You Fucking Serious? Fuck You Then”

I don’t know what’s going to happen with the AI-as-media industry exactly, but I know CEOs standing around in quarter zips talking about how it’s going to take over have the aura of Disco Stu circa 1976. The product’s main value is novelty, which is powerful but short lived. Even for outright fraud.

what i love is that in 1990 judas priest got brought to trial over the claim that subliminal messages in the recording "better by you better than me" caused two suicides and now in 2025 openai seems to be generating a suicide a week with its superliminal messages and the US government is funding it

One of the worst things about the Nuzzi/Lizza stuff is that it’s as much an indictment of the journalism world in which they began and grew their careers as the abject state of media today

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

According to today's WSJ, tulip-related investment accounts for half of GDP growth. A reversal would risk recession. We can't afford to go backwards.

seeing TAB perform is funny because trey's backup singers have really precise and clear phrasing and diction, so i can tell exactly when they're singing "the moma dance" and when they're singing "the moment ends"

IF ANYONE IS WONDERING HOW I FEEL ABOUT THE AXE IN WICKED: FOR GOOD: hilarious. enormous beard on that thing. very mall axe, viking imitation, not a woodfelling axe at all. perfect for the overembellished hyperornamental vibe of the whole movie
