This is insane. If Obama did this the GOP would impeach
omg!

"Demolition crews have begun tearing down part of the White House...

"Construction teams Monday were demolishing a portion of the East Wing, with a backhoe ripping through the structure..."

Oh, and it’s definitely wrong and illegal. We shouldn’t be using the military for that.
This is why law enforcement is best left to law enforcement.

If you’re not collecting evidence and ensuring chain of custody and all that other good stuff, you’re just shooting yourself in the dick.

Arbitrarily whacking drug cartels is easier, faster but in the long run it is not better
The survivor of a U.S. strike on a submersible vessel accused by the Trump administration of transporting drugs in the Caribbean was released by authorities in Ecuador after prosecutors said they had no evidence he committed a crime in the South American nation, a government official said Monday.
Ecuador says it has no evidence survivor of US strike in Caribbean committed any crime

Pure cruelty
A video from Pokrovsk showing shot civilians was posted by Ukrainian volunteer Denys Khrystov.

Important to remember how instrumental this paper was in pushing the case for the Iraq war, how it fired voices of dissent. Glad people are finally realizing what a witch the Gray Lady has long been.
Remember April 2009 when about 250,000 people took to America’s streets in Tea Party rallies and the media was like “oh man, the Dems are in trouble?” Approximately 28X as many people took to the streets to protest Trump yesterday. Didn’t even make the NYT front page.
In April of 2009 I observed the Tea Party rally in Salem. As this front page story says, there were a couple hundred people there. This past weekend in Salem there were roughly 2-3000 people at the Hands Off rally. Yet the Tea Party coverage seemed to take that event far more seriously.

Now that Trump has illegally bombed a seventh boat in the Caribbean, please note this: Rep Adam Smith, ranking Dem on Armed Services, tells me that *at no point* have officials given lawmakers even the most basic information about these extrajudicial murders:

Republican rhetoric all week was clearly aiming to either depress turnout or inspire visible maga pushback. Neither happened and the press doesn’t seem particularly interested in exploring the implications of that.

one interesting thing is the collapse of mass support for trump before he took office. his in-person events were sparsely attended. his conventional fundraising (donations in the dollar to thousand dollar range) was more or less nonexistent.

Trump I was a grassroots phenomenon. Trump II was elite.

the media has made a huge deal about Neutrality and Not Editorializing and it all falls apart when you realize they are too afraid to publish a factual description of the video Trump posted

Russians started a human safari in Pokrovsk too. Videos are just civilians getting slaughtered under the surveillance of a drone. This will obviously not make it to headlines but please don’t let russians kill in silence

🤬 In Pokrovsk, Russians shot civilians.

💔 Near the railway, to which the Russians had made their way, a drone discovered the bodies of three civilians and a woman with bullet wounds in her legs. She was later carried away in the arms of an unknown man.
Exactly
⚡️Updated: Zelensky should not be pressured to give up territory, Poland's Tusk says.

"None of us should put pressure on Zelensky when it comes to territorial concessions. We should all put pressure on Russia to stop its aggression. Appeasement never was a road to a just and lasting peace."
'He's going to take something' — Trump says Putin has 'won' territory in Ukraine
"He's won certain property," Trump told Fox News, indicating that Putin would lay claim to Ukrainian lands as part of a U.S.-brokered peace deal.

Believe it or not but sovereign states have the ultimate castle doctrine / stand your ground laws to protect them as an entity.
Thank you, Congressman, for your steadfast support of #Ukraine.
You make excellent points.

More people marched today than at any time in the history of the United States.

For @nytimes.com, it was the 6th most important story.

They are making sure that those in power do not see what they do not want to see.

This is not what we were brought up to think of as journalism.
I pitty the future historians that will have to spend countless hours in the preparation of their PhD going through this stuff with a fine tooth comb.

Assuming historians and PhDs are still a thing in the future is pretty bold, I know.
and another thing: he’s not mad. please don’t put it in the newspaper that he got mad.
