Today's the 959th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, so obviously I'm reposting my scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry in Playmobil.

Help! Any Latin scholars out there? Does 'Memento Amoris' translate to 'Remember Love?'

Come for their stupid right-wing polices that bankrupt their countries, stay for their inability to do hair.

I made the foolish mistake of putting our mainly black duvet cover on the bed and it's covered in Indy's fur.

Background is apartment beige window with bars over it and view of mostly brown ground beyond. In foreground, in a beige cat tree basket, a fluffy black cat is contorting themselves such that they are mostly curled ip upside down and looking with upside down head and pulled in paws at the photographer. This is the BEST limited series I've seen in a while. aka 'Knutby'. Spanish with English subtitles. Available in New Zealand via MGM+, not sure where it's available overseas but hunt it down. It's fantastic.

The magnificent Waimakariri River draining the waters of Kā Tiritiri-o-te-moana (the Southern Alps) onto Kā Pākihi-whakatekateka-a-Waitaha (Canterbury Plains), Aotearoa New Zealand.

The hot NorWester foehn wind was absolutely howling

A view from Bealey in the upper reachers of the Waimakariri River looking back to the Southern Alps at Arthur's Pass National Park. It was absolutely bucketing down on the West Coast, while even here the wind was warm.

Also, I'm so chuffed to be able to share the cover for Tiny Moments of Joy: Spotted on Market Day in Aotearoa New Zealand, which will be coming out in paperback and ebook on the 11th of November this year.

All further details to come soon!

Huge thanks for your lovely encouragement this past year!❤️
You're looking at a damask pink... maybe soft red cover with the words Tiny Moments of Joy written in a serif font in white and orange. Above that are the words: Spotted on Market Day in Aotearoa New Zealand in a white sans serif font and the name George Penney is below in the same font. The cover has a border of pale ferns that are mostly white or a paler colour than the cover. You know looking at this cover that you will need a comfy chair, maybe a snoozing lap cat or dog and a sunny or warm spot to read this book. It's that kind of vibe.

TRON Ares is one of the most unsurprising, blatant pieces of corporate propaganda I've ever seen, and what started as a review turned into something of an essay on why the franchise meant so much to me, and why I'm not surprised.

Trump: "You hear those sirens going off? That's good. A good sound. That means they either got the bad guy or they're gonna stop the bad guy. You didn't hear that sound bc nobody wanted to do anything. Listen to the beauty of that sound. That's the real deal sirens, not politically correct sirens"

If you saw the sentence "They are loving it like they have not loved a lot of things" you would know who said it immediately. I long to go back to the time when The Apprentice was on, I never saw it, and the only thing I was vaguely aware of was "You're fired!" being the weakest buzz phrase.
