Please, read this. It's a bit dense at parts, and I do encourage looking up terms you're unfamiliar with. I know I regularly have to remind myself what the hell a cytokine is.

But overall, it's very readable, brings up good points, and recognizes that those calling for mitigations have a point.

I keep thinking about how the Endangered Species Act came to be under a Republican administration, and conservation used to be really important to conservatives not just for hunting/fishing/outdoor recreation but because they valued our incredibly rich ecology on its own merit.

Gentle reminder: I am seeing more "I cannot afford pet food" posts & if you might face this in the near future/now, I recommend checking your local area's subreddit and posting if anyone knows of local programs for pet food. Many areas have small under-the-radar charities that give out pet food.

Abuse of disabled people in immigration detention is a longstanding issue and it's escalating very fast right now. (Shoutout to orgs like Disability Rights CA, our state protection and advocacy organization, for fighting to get into ICE facilities.)

A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.

This is beyond cruel.
