Amazing. I would use that milestone publicly in the drive. It works so well for publishers I've worked with and for folks like the Aftermath crew.

I had to talk to the IRS today because I got a $1k+ penalty and they were like "can you fax us your documentation" and I COULD because I use Traveling Mailbox. Thank god for them. Mailing letters and depositing checks for me and everything.

Genuinely: Paywalling content is not a thing I love doing. I'd rather create in a world where writers & artists could share our stuff literally freely. The Flytrap is cooperatively owned by its founders, who put in a ton of as-yet unpaid work to produce ALL our content—including one free post/month.

Want to note here as well that while we have not paid OURSELVES, we have paid freelance writers and artists industry-standard rates, which is very important to us both as an organization, and as current/former freelancers who believe in independent media.

I help people grow their revenue while staying free from platform dependence, but sure trust a tech company.

Surely they have your best interest in mind.

The one message I really want you to hear is "don't get locked into your platform" and some of you are hearing something else and end up getting married to a platform and that's a bad idea for your business.

Substack, Patreon, Squarespace, whatever. Do not trust a tech company with YOUR business.

probably would not choose Patreon bc you're now completely locked in and the fees are just as high but I celebrate this anyway i guess
