A glimpse into the Bridgy Fed monitoring dashboards. Pretty conventional mix of infra, OS, and app level metrics.

Note the delay numbers. When you do something in one network, how quickly do we bridge it across? We pay a lot of attention to that, we try hard to keep it as fast as possible!
monitoring dashboard with graphs for user count, receive/send/ATProto serve/ATProto consume delays, tasks run, and processing delays monitoring dashboard with graphs for task results, task queues, CPU, and memory monitoring dashboard with graphs for receive protocols, types, source instances, and ATProto firehose commits monitoring dashboard with graphs for unsupported activities and sent activities by protocol and type

This reads as if someone has said to ChatGPT "write 1,000 words in the style of Boris Johnson about a weight loss drug".

BORIS JOHNSON: Wonder drug I hoped would stop my raids for cheddar and chorizo didn't work for me https://trib.al/1APYTx1

I've been saying ChatGPT is Johnson as a service for a while. Superficially read in historic texts, able to extrude something that looks like prose in a particular form, but has no underlying emotion, meaning or connection to the truth, but you recognise repeating chunks of it.

I've said for a while that LLMs bullshit like Boris Johnson. Game recognizes game.
That's clarifying - clarifying that you're an asshole attacking someone for their trauma rather than addressing their argument.
Talia Jane is an excellent on the ground reporter and you are a schmuck.
I am concerned about the killers named Alexander who should be in solitary confinement ,like Alexander Pichushkin - why do you not address the Alexander murderer issue? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexand...

People protesting outside the Supreme Court that trans rights harm women might be a bit more middle class than people protesting outside asylum hotels that immigrants harm women, but I don’t think their arguments are any better (or less ultimately damaging to women)

hello consider this a reminder, in case people missed it last week, that I've launched a new quarterly night in London called the Outsiders Arts Club where people will be able to buy great affordable art and ask dumb questions to an art professional: outsidersartsclub.com

thanks, bye

there have been a lot of responses to this arguing that young Republicans were motivated by such feelings but didn't express them openly

and I think a crucial lesson of the Trump era is that there is great value in people not expressing these things openly! that's a big and decisive change!
For those tempted to say Young Republicans have always been this way, they really have not. When I worked on campus and did bipartisan college events after, they were very much not like this.

That’s why groups like YCT and eventually TPUSA formed — because Young Republicans weren’t radical enough.
EXCLUSIVE: Thousands of leaked messages show leaders of Young Republican groups joking about gas chambers, slavery and rape in a private Telegram chat.

The absolute bloody vandalism of austerity in one chart. Good analysis of the overall picture here.
I am in a funky pub in Middlesbrough, I wasn't expecting the tech bro inquisition
The pub sitting room. It features a boar head 🐗 old sofas, instruments, pistols and a fireplace The pub front room. It features a chandelier, a fireplace, stuffed animals, cupboards full of China and books and 3 tech bullshitters by the window
They did mention huddles as well

I think Milton Keynes might be a better place to trial it.
The physics in yours is a lot more convincing too, their motion is vague and just looks wrong.
Are you saying that Rod Liddle isn't a bigot either? Or Taki?

Worse: we're going backwards. No COVID19 boosters for under-75s (except for badly immunocompromised patients) is a disaster—many people last got a booster in 2021, and immunity wanes rapidly. Some estimates suggest economic costs of £7Bn due to non-vaccination which exceeds cost of vaxxing everyone.
