2024 election results mega thread for reference. It will be updated as more studies of the 2024 election become available. Includes some comparisons to the 2020 election as well to help illustrate some points about the real world impacts of the electoral college and how Harris did vs Biden.

talia reports on the ground from face-to-face showdowns with fascists in which she routinely finds herself directly targeted for violence and saying that she is leeching off the "real protesters" who show up one saturday a month to wave signs at passing cars is indeed some radlib shit
bartenderhemry.bsky.social
This is exactly backwards, the no kings protests are a mass movement of regular people that have every republican politician in the country raging about "hate America rallies," and the online protest industry weirdos who say shit like "radlib" to each other are the ones skimming off the top of them
it is no wonder that 50501, a movement of radlibs who are very upset but don’t want to get in trouble, would be boosting superficial activism.

superficial activism has its place, but if that place is front and center, it kills whatever movement it is skimming off the top of.

Patton supported fascism:
From the 1975 Bodyguard of Lies Volume II:

Patton was relieved of command of the 3rd Army by Eisenhower just after the end of the war for stating publicly that America had been fighting the wrong enemy— Germany instead of Russia

He was quite the opposite of the leader of antifa. He admired Nazi Germany and felt the US aligned on the wrong side in WWII.

Just a side note, we need to stop thinking of people in college as being young and fresh out of high school. My wife started college in her 40s, for example. The college we attended had a significant amount of the student population that was mid 30s and higher.

Do you want to talk about the Palestinian prisoners who have had limbs amputated due to 2+ years of torture in Israeli custody? Over 1500 of these hostages were held without charge and experienced torture including rape, starvation, intentional infestation with scabies, and medical neglect.

Maybe it's time for the pathetic and cowardly Democratic Leadership to FINALLY ENDORSE ZOHRAN MAMDANI?

That's quite an impressive headline for the AP, kudos to them. Usually they're much more circumspect.

The Supreme Court's Republican appointees sound ready to transform the 14th and 15th Amendments into a weapon against the very racial minorities they were meant to protect—handing Republicans 15-19 additional House seats in the process. A disaster for democracy.
slate.com/news-and-pol...
Is it racist to remedy racism? That’s the question at the heart of Callais v. Louisiana, which the Supreme Court heard on Wednesday. The case asks whether the Voting Rights Act gives Black Louisianans too much political power—and if so, whether the landmark law violates the Constitution. Unsurprisingly, the Republican-appointed justices seem eager to rule that it does. Throughout oral arguments, they suggested the VRA protects minority voters too effectively, dragging the government into race-conscious considerations that offend the equal protection rights of the white voters who sued in this case. And they floated various ways to gut what remains of the statute by twisting it beyond recognition or striking it down altogether. The result would be a windfall for Republicans, who stand to gain at least 19 seats in the House of Representatives if the Supreme Court frees them to gerrymander Black communities into oblivion. Such a decision would also devastate minority representation in Congress, eliminating up to 30 percent of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Mi’kmaw is Fred Sylliboy’s first language. He said he asked the RCMP for a translator numerous times.

I would say if anything has hurt coalitions, it's the endless amount of rope extended to young racist shitheads, a thing that is a distinct impediment to building effective coalitions with the targets of their clearly hateful bigoted behavior, not pointing out someone's aggrieved sanctimony online

They told my generation of Black girls to stop having babies in our teens. They eliminated older forms of welfare. They decimated our communities by creating the PIC. It ruined neighborhoods & families.

Constant propaganda turned us into worker drones. Now they're mad that Black women... work?

All our lives, we've been told that we're responsible for every murder, every theft, every shenanigan that anyone with even a passing association to us allegedly committed.

This thread asks white allies to convince those you love & in your sphere to turn away from fascism that will destroy us all.

Yes! And if you object to this sermon of a thread:

30-40 years ago, the entire nation was on Black communities' necks about "crime rates" and "teen motherhood." Yesterday's "welfare queen" is today's "DEI hire."

Having zero sense of collective responsibility is a luxury in these United States.

White people need to talk to other white people. It is entirely up to the whites to move the needle on their end.

Let me be clear: racism and antisemitism are rampant on *both* sides of the aisle.

This whole interview with @lindseyboylan.bsky.social is amazing, but we need to shout this from the rooftops.

There's this message that abusive men like to send that's something like "yeah, I'm an abuser, but I'm a strong man who can get things done."

And no, he isn't.
LINDSEY BOYLAN: People who abuse women abuse every kind of power they have.

But there's been such a total dissolution of cause and effect in the Zionist imagination that it seems like people really cannot wrap their mind around things like "if you murder, imprison, displace, and relentlessly mistreat your neighbors then it's very normal for them to be upset about it."

Also, you may believe (as I did) that just because your ancestors were from the "north" (mine, NY & NJ), they did not enslave people. I was horrified to find out that this was not the case while researching my roots.

Your ancestors may have never owned anyone, but we've all been in direct labor competition for a few centuries now. Your ancestors came into a nation with an established racial hierarchy. Let's be honest about that.

It's why I have questions about Marxism in general (Black Marxism is different).
