I usually think anonymity is only appropriate for people who are threatened or marginalized.

If one of our criticisms of ICE is their anonymity, there is value in giving face to the opposition.

It is great symbolism.

It shows a sense of humor in the face of adversity, and makes it clear where the violence and lawlessness is coming from.

We could get rid of half of the radiative forcing of climate caused by aviation if we could get airlines to stop making contrails, mostly by flying a few thousand feet higher or lower.

Democratic politicians need to get some training on how to deal with witnesses who don't answer uncomfortable questions and use them instead as an opportunity to go on the attack.

Pam Bondi may be a terrible person but she is skilled at getting in her sound bites and opposition research quips.

Metrics are tools.

The primary question about a tool is whether it is useful in helping achieving our goals.

While science goes into developing metrics, the choice of what metrics to use depends on what your goals are.

The choice of metrics cannot be used to set overall goals.

I think we have found out who the real conservatives are and who was just after power and money.

Now, it is largely the Democrats and a few old-school conservative organizations that are trying to conserve traditional American values and institutions.

It is interesting to see how horse fodder and food was as much a part of our energy mix (20%) in 1820 as coal is today. In 1920 coal was up at 70%. Note these are percentages not quantities.
