I'm social about sports, and not much else...usually. But catch me on a good day and I'll go off on an assortment of randomness. Good luck.

That GIF reminds me of one of my favorite jokes from Twitter:

If it's 6:08 in Manhattan, what time is it in Lawrence?

52-7

😈
For the first time in nearly 18 months, there is power IN my house.
(I went ahead and hooked up the fireplace outlet because it's the only thing on its circuit)
Lots still to do, but a big milestone.

Let’s not overlook the fact that the volleyball team won in Lawrence last night too. 💜 #kstate #gargantuan

I will fight anyone who says otherwise. And I've got a lot of current and former band kids who will back me up

Per our old friend Tim Everson, KU's band director wished Frank Tracz a happy retirement with "live long and prosper" and I am DYING

And y'all thought The Streak was gonna end.

Avery Johnson's three TD passes away from tying Will Howard, and the Cats roll 42-17. Recap, observations, players of the game, and oh god Texas Tech is next aren't they?

If next year's Sunflower Showdown takes place after October 25, there will be humans who can vote who will not have been alive the last time K-State lost to KU.

(Recap in a few.)

4th-and-3 at the K-State 34, DESMOND PURNELL blows through the line and sacks Daniels, forcing a fumble recovered by Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder.

Cats ball at their own 42.

You can blame @mattbrown.bsky.social for this one. (Or Tim Derdenger, but he doesn't appear to be on BlueSky.)

The conventional wisdom about what the portal and NIL would do was wrong from the start. A study now backs it up, which gives Jon a reason to opine at length.

(Go read Extra Points, too.)
NIL is increasing competition (just like we said) | Bring On The Cats
Back when this all started, Jon argued against the conventional wisdom. He was right.

Oh no, The Onion wrote an article about my dad and his sisters!

(even got one of the names right 🤣)

I don't know what Jesus would think about the ideal property tax rate and I don't especially care.

But I do know what Jesus taught about every human being having a spark of the divine and being worthy of the love and respect that comes with being in our enteral family. Even the unpopular ones.

I will pay more in taxes, I will consider contributing to your kids school BBQ fundraiser or carwash, but we do not need to have kids selling giftwrap, cookie dough kits, or magazine subscriptions (back in the day) as a school or class fundraiser.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

DEFENSE SCORES TOUCHDOWNS

FOOTBALL IS FUN AGAIN

WE HAVE A WEEK OFF NOW

K-State wins 41-28 over TCU. Jon's recap, thoughts, and players of the game, one of whom is painfully obvious:
FINAL: Kansas State Wildcats 41, TCU Horned Frogs 28 | Bring On The Cats
The Wildcat defense scored twice, just like old times.

HALFTIME: K-State 14, TCU 7.

The story so far is K-State's lack of success on *first* down; their first-down success rate (4+ yards on first) is even lower than their third-down conversion rate.

Huge, huge swathes of *Trump voters* will effectively have no health care available except for emergency ER.

It is simultaneously a) the worst way to maintain public health and b) the most *expensive* way to do it.

Idiocy from moral degenerates. That's our country now.
SCARBOROUGH: The Nebraska Rural Health Association says at least 6 rural hospitals would have to close bc of the big beautiful bill

FLOOD: Here's the deal: Some hospitals that are rural hospitals are going to eventually have to transition from being acute bed hospitals into being an ER model
At least tag @ericrubottom.bsky.social

Pretty sure it's a core memory for him 🤣😜😈
