Let’s not overlook the fact that the volleyball team won in Lawrence last night too. 💜 #kstate #gargantuan
It was the Enterprise, not a penis, and we're sticking to our guns on this one
Per our old friend Tim Everson, KU's band director wished Frank Tracz a happy retirement with "live long and prosper" and I am DYING
And y'all thought The Streak was gonna end.

Avery Johnson's three TD passes away from tying Will Howard, and the Cats roll 42-17. Recap, observations, players of the game, and oh god Texas Tech is next aren't they?

If next year's Sunflower Showdown takes place after October 25, there will be humans who can vote who will not have been alive the last time K-State lost to KU.

(Recap in a few.)
3-yard Avery Johnson TD run ends a 6:16 drive and throws the final pile of dirt on KU's coffin.

42-17 Cats, 4:17 to go.

3-yard TD run for Daniel Hishaw gets KU within a score at 21-14, 0:30 Q2
That was Avery's 44th TD pass.

Will Howard holds the school record with 48.
Avery Johnson is throwing the ball all over the place against the Power 5's second-worst rushing defense. AJ ties Josh Freeman for 2nd place on K-State's all-time TD pass list with a 27-yard lob to Jaron Tibbs.

21-7 K-State, 0:12 Q1
4th-and-3 at the K-State 34, DESMOND PURNELL blows through the line and sacks Daniels, forcing a fumble recovered by Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder.

Cats ball at their own 42.

14-7 K-State, 4:24 Q1
Cats force a 3-and-out, then KU suffers a bad snap, and Ralph Ortiz scoops and scores.

2-yard run by Avery Johnson ties it up.

7-7 9:50 Q1
Noernberg fumbles the opening kickoff. Jalon Daniels fumbles on his touchdown run, but it's ruled a touchdown anyway.

Will the run of dominance continue? Your pregame info to know, including a weird new way to watch K-State football which we can't even begin to help you with!

In 1934, K-State won its first (and until 2003, only) conference title, beating KU 13-0 along the way, in a game so ugly that head coach Pappy Waldorf said afterwards that “this was the only game eight fumbles couldn’t lose.” #SunflowerShowdown

In 1969, the #SunflowerShowdown got a new trophy, the Governor’s Cup, which KU and K-State still play for to this day. The Wildcats also inaugurated their current stadium that year and beat KU 26-22.

You can blame @mattbrown.bsky.social for this one. (Or Tim Derdenger, but he doesn't appear to be on BlueSky.)

The conventional wisdom about what the portal and NIL would do was wrong from the start. A study now backs it up, which gives Jon a reason to opine at length.

(Go read Extra Points, too.)
NIL is increasing competition (just like we said) | Bring On The Cats
Back when this all started, Jon argued against the conventional wisdom. He was right.

36-yarder from Rodriguez, after which TCU wasted a lot of time before chucking a whatever 37-yard TD pass to McAlister.
