I guess you gotta have your non-negotiables. But the years-long tendency to vacillate players from 37 minutes one game to 6 the next - with no strategy or cohesion - is not helpful.

Since she’s now at #USWNT instead of Chelsea, I like Emma Hayes about 50x more than I used to. It was always obvious she’s an elite coach. She seems cool as shit, and an amazing leader of people.

This is why I don’t like the 12-team playoff. So many teams already essentially in that the existential dread of your rival not only having bragging rights, but ending your title hopes, is largely gone.
