It is so (sorry Bob) goddamn unfair that we have a Pope who's freely engaging in baseball shit talk as the Popemobile rolls through Rome, and we can't even enjoy it because the world is going to hell as fast as it can move.

Really disappointed in how the Pfister ghosts performed for Games 1 and 2, too. Just disappeared in big spots.

Also that! They don’t have to choose between using resources to pump up R&D like the Brewers or using that money to sign guys who have already proven themselves in the majors, they can do both. And that’s what teams with those means should be doing!

The only time in our nearly two decade relationship that I’ve made more money than my wife is when I got “academically suspended” from going to Wisconsin for a year so I bartended full-time while she finished college.

IMO dudes should be normal and not weird about having a successful wife/partner.

Ok but could he get a hit off of a future Cy Young pitcher in his college days?

This is why Jordan from the current season of Love Is Blind is the most trustworthy guy in the show's history and why I'm gonna scream if he and Sparkle Megan don't live happily ever after

Yes, and they have funds to the point where that kinda stops mattering. The disparity isn’t about (or isn’t JUST about) paying for the guys who are on the field now, but the ability to shrug and eat the back end of those deals while signing new guys

Something I keep coming back to in my own mind: even if the salary cap is something like $200 million (which might even be low), what good does that do for teams like the Brewers, who don’t want to spend to that level already? Even a floor of $100 million won’t fix that.

I also hope that by the end of the series, if it ends the way it’s looking now, that folks don’t dwell too much on the payroll thing. This happens whether Snell and Yamamoto are making $30 million/year or $15 million/year.

To make this more insane, the Brewers had 8 ABs with RISP in the first INNING of game 1 vs. the Cubs. They have 8 in their last 35 innings

Dodgers are 7-1 this postseason, and 17-4 in their last 21 playoff games.

One singular AB with runners in scoring position this series. It was Turang’s K to end game 1. Can’t create havoc in the bases if you don’t get on base

I’m not even really mad about how things have played out so far. The lack of expectations (while still having hope) is probably the reason, but this is also looking like an all-time elite postseason rotation. Hard to even work counts when they’re dotting every corner.

This is what they did better than anyone for most of the year, and…

The brewers only have 8 ABs with runners in scoring position in the last 4 games. They are 0-8

In the series where it's imperative you get to the bullpen, having back-to-back starters flirt with complete games is a bad portent for being able to come from behind.
jaymesl.bsky.social
Yes that doesn’t make any sense. Yes it will still happen. They’re that good over the last month.

I’m starting to buy that there’s a real chance the Dodgers go 18-1 in the playoffs

it would be incredibly Brewers to drop the first two at home and still make it a series
jaymesl.bsky.social
There’s a decent chance Roberts doesn’t take his starter out after 8 this time
jaymesl.bsky.social
Ok but sending out Uribe for another inning is just kinda funny at this point

Max Muncy is…definitely not 21 @cyrthogg.bsky.social

Max Muncy’s 14 home runs are most in Dodgers postseason history, breaking a tie at 13 with Corey Seager and Justin Turner
