This map puts a recent geopolitical development into perspective. If Ukraine really gains access to Tomahawk missiles, potential new targets in Russia open up. Source: buff.ly/YlPvyK1

I've just seen this photo of them, and my god does it spark joy.

“Do you know whether they’ve sold the prize dildo that was hanging up in the window? The one that looks like it came off some kind of horse-dragon?”

“What, the one as big as me?” returned the boy.

Interesting! That name looks like it should mean 'the laws of work' and I associate it with chairs that are good for your back, but define it as 'the study of the relationship between workers and their environment' and a whole lot of things open up:
Ergonomics, also known as human factors or human factors engineering (HFE), is the application of psychological and physiological principles to the engineering and design of products, processes, and systems. Primary goals of human factors engineering are to reduce human error, increase productivity and system availability, and enhance safety, health and comfort with a specific focus on the interaction between the human and equipment.
I doubt it's unhinged, but The Name of the Doctor obliterates and makes meaningless everything about the Ninth, and all out of snarky spite because Christopher Eccleston wouldn't come back, which he'd said from the beginning he wouldn't do.

it's pathetic and petty, both in-universe and out-.
come on, Legionnaires', do your thing

Now imagining Greek 'rabbis' bending all of their attention to discrepancies between Homer, Hesiod, and the rest, in order to produce a pagan Talmud that contains an explanation for everything.
As @arrscott.bsky.social says, continuity is a child's obsession.

As a kid, I wanted Greek mythology to "make sense." Variants of myths, nevermind outright contradictions, made me crazy. As an adult, I find the differences telling.

Shame so much theology is built on a need for continuity.
I’ve increasingly come to believe this! As a child I was obsessed with continuity in the books & comics I enjoyed, but now I just want the story in front of me right now to grab me.
Others have already mentioned the Japanese in Mexico, but I can't not repost one of my all-time favorites.
