Autistic people like myself have been shouting this for years, and we get shut down left and right. Every single country that ABA is active has Autistic operated orgs and groups that have been pushing for the banning of the practice, but we aren’t listened to. We can’t outspend Autism $peaks.

Autism $peaks is the largest and most popular Autism organization (among allistics), who continues to be 100% in support of ABA. They have lobbyists who push ABA as the “gold standard Autism treatment.” It utilizes same practices as “conversion therapy,” which is currently banned in 28 countries.

ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is the “gold standard” of “treatment” for Autism, and was created by the person as “Conversion therapy” (see Lovaas) with similar techniques and goals. It’s torture that continues to have widespread support and acceptance.

Too many books play it safe. Like indie published books, there should be far more unhinged weirdness in trad books. More monster-fucking, more bizarre creatures from deep dives into mythology, more utterly ridiculous ideas vomited onto the page.
Less reality, more gleeful madness.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Baraa. Baraa is the mother of 3 children Masa, 6, Ibrahim, 4 and Maha, 7 months. Tragically Maha was killed after a nearby bombing caused gasses to overwhelm her little lungs. Masa is in the hospital because of kidney issues from malnutrition.

Indeed. The issue is not "Jews are white and Palestinians are brown" the issue is the state of Israel, defined constitutionally as a Jewish state in its political, legal, and social character is as a result explicitly exclusionary and creates 2nd and 3rd tiers of life. It is racial, just arbitrary.

What it means is quite literally that you can, in fact, find people of physical traits you wouldn't expect in almost every ethnic group in the world. There are Saudis who are natural blondes and Finns whose grandparents were all born there who are remarkably swarthy. It just happens.
