Lens nerds, assemble! This is an astonishing and (yes) moving saga.
This is really cool: a guy found one of the original Cinemascope anamorphic adapters used to shoot 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA (1954), and that had been sitting in storage for 70 years, for sale on eBay bought it and shot some beautiful new footage with it www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg0f...

This heist was so fucking French
cannot stop laughing at the louvre heist escape video as they’re slowly lowered down the ladder in a bucket
#DianaDors (23 October 1931) with #AlfredLynch in WEST 11 (1963) also featuring #PatrickWymark - a film of bohemian life in Notting Hill - wymark.org.uk/West.html
Patrick Allen obviously happy to show off his "visible packet" (in silhouette) in the opening of the VAN DER VALK episode "A Death By The Sea" (1973).

Such a fantastic movie. Need to finally read that novel

The "coughing blood" shot felt like something new - there was something similar in an episode of THE GUARDIANS at the same time (obviously not old enough to see movies like THE WILD BUNCH at the time).

It's possible - the teaser for 'Identified' virtually paraphrases the teaser from 'Eleven Days To Zero', the pilot episode of VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA.

Except Mark of Gideon was not shown on BBC 1 until November 1971. Is Chimes of Big Ben from The Prisoner a more likely influence for Toblin? But UFO blew it by having Straker fight A.Stuntman instead of his alien clone.
#ColinJeavons (BOTD 1929) was at the Old Vic Theatre School with #PatrickWymark - In the 14 June 1951 graduation show, Colin was noted as compelling as Tommaso Corsi in Pirandello's the Doctor's Duty. "A man torn by moral torment, fear and physical suffering." www.wymark.org.uk/oldvicschool...
Just received DEAR FENELLA from @fenellafielding.bsky.social
- twice as big as I'd expected and comes with a unique free gift of one of Fenella's cancelled cheques from 1979.

Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”, by Robin Jacques, for February 22nd 1952’s Radio Times.

For decade after decade, the Radio Times published absolutely fabulous illustrations. It’s a shame that the times have changed & that’s no longer an option.

The Century 21 March aka the TV21 March

An uptempo arrangement of the Thunderbirds theme, with subtle nods to Fireball XL5

Barry Gray used elements of this arrangement for some but not all of the Thunderbird 2 and Thunderbird 3 launch sequences..

My 14-year-old self would never have guessed that, in 50 years' time, all the world's music would be available at the click of a button, you'd navigate the globe by carrying a tiny computer around in your pocket, and the US President would post a video of himself shitting over American citizens.
