Here's how the rule of law works, when it comes to presidents who abuse power and violate the constitution.

South Korea's ex-president Yoon Suk Yeol already faces criminal charges of insurrection, in connection with his failed martial law decree last year.

Very important for *all* US colleges and universities to stick together and rebuff this unlawful "compact," making it crystal clear they're not giving in to any kind of extortion. The president can't impose conditions on federal funds that would force institutions to give up constitutional rights.

I too celebrate the return of 20 living Israeli hostages, but Trump as usual is massively ignorant and mean. It's no "dawn" for majority of Palestinians who have nothing to come home to, or for Israelis who are now, thanks to Netanyahu, forever associated with massive war crimes.

Horrified to learn about the violent, degrading and humiliating abuses Kim Ah-hyun and her fellow activists suffered after Israel intercepted their flotilla bringing aid to Gaza. Now released and speaking out, Kim says what's most important is to stay focused on the danger still facing Palestinians.

Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

How strange to have a President of the United States who fancies himself as a man of world peace while posing as a man of war at home.

An eyewitness to yesterday's unlawful arrest of WGN-TV journalist and US citizen Debbie Brockman called it "the most frightening thing I have seen in Chicago, living here 20-odd years.”

Yet another reason for abolishing ICE and prosecuting all at ICE and DHS committing or authorizing violence.

I read the Diary of Anne Frank at some point, maybe 7th or 8th grade. I wondered what I and my parents would do if a terrified family knocked on our door begging for asylum.

Japanese politics was rocked on Friday as the Kōmeitō announced it would leave its coalition with the LDP after twenty-six years. To understand why this happened and what it means, I wrote a guide for the perplexed.

Claiming to cancel a meeting is a common negotiating tactic for Trump. Back in 2018 he created a lot of empty drama by canceling his upcoming summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un. The meeting - and the bromance - went forward anyway, and I'll bet a bottle of soju Trump and Xi will meet at APEC.

Shameful but not surprising that Trump's lackeys are trying to scare people away from the upcoming 'No Kings' protests. My local 'No Kings' in June was peaceful, festive and very patriotic. Could not be more clear the president wishes he had unilateral power to imprison people, like in an absolute monarchy

He doesn’t so instead he’s forcing the govt to bring charges against his enemies because he wants vengeance

Nakedly corrupt, the sort of thing that necessitates removal from office

Each name and each story brings home the terrible human tragedy of Israel's genocide in Gaza.

These children should still be alive, and their killers should be held to account and brought to justice.

Trump's nonstop threats to arrest Dems are also about sleepwalking us into forgetting that free societies don't allow for arbitrary arrests of political opponents.

As @kristyparker.bsky.social says, we need to keep reminding ourselves that this isn't how it works:

Quickly, we should launch an initiative to replenish the lost aid and save the millions of lives in danger. The UN, EU, G7, corporations, universities, foundations, churches, advocacy groups, state and local govts could work together to make it happen. The Democrats could take a key organizing role.

Trump and Musk cut vital lifesaving programs so abruptly and thoughtlessly that providers had no time to find alternatives for millions in dire need. This tragedy in Myanmar is the latest example. We need a coordinated effort to replenish the lost USAID resources and to save the lives now in danger.

Tom Homan, head of ICE, accepted $50k from undercover FBI agents last year, reportedly a bribe in a sting operation. All cash, in a paper bag. Pam Bondi, reading from a script, insists Homan did nothing wrong—yet she refuses to answer any questions about what happened to that cash? Really?

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.
