A report and statement from the Former JAGS Working Group is applying new damning perspective to Sec of Defense Pete Hegseth's reported order to kill the survivors of an attack on a boat supposedly carrying drugs in the Caribbean 2 months ago. If true, this is a clear war crime⬇️

"Any peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine that includes an amnesty for [Putin] war crimes could encourage other authoritarian leaders to attack their neighbours, Ukraine’s only Nobel peace prize winner warned." It would ruin international law, she said.

Under Trump, “the United States is now becoming less special and a lot more like empires of the past.”

Below, @davidfrum.bsky.social focuses on how part of what used to differentiate America was that it was not just about power and wealth as nations often are, but also defined by its ideas. Under Trump’s greed & corruption, he proves, much of this notion is vanishing.

Shocking new video on the newest way corporations are ripping us off: replacing price tags with dynamic pricing algorithms that can change constantly to benefit companies & are rigged against consumers, & even use our personal info so companies can charge us more.

Such cruel needless actions against asylum applicants who have already suffered so much, who had nothing to do with the shooting of National Guard members in D.C. Trump is a monster of hate and corruption.

The ex-president of Honduras is a convicted drug trafficker who took bribes from a drug kingpin. Make no mistake: Trump hates the rule of law and digs rich and powerful criminals. Another way in which MAGA voters got hoodwinked.

Been following Rosalia since her 2017 debut. It’s satisfying to see her fulfil her potential over four excellent albums. Her new LP "Lux" is so ambitious, w/touches of opera and flamenco—yet romantic, poetic, danceable as well. Nothing else like it today. One of the best things I’ve heard in 2025.

Trump is cynically using this tragic shooting by an apparently mentally ill person to do what he wanted anyway: spread more hate to immigrants and cover up his culpability in this. The Guard wasn't needed in DC & used as a political prop, often picking up trash.

Fitting that the new Mavis Staples album begins with “Chicago,” Tom Waits’ salute to the bravery of the black Americans who left the South for better opportunities up north with less racism. It's the story of Mavis’ own fabled family, and so many more... (1 of 2)

Someone needs to inform the many fans of Nigel Farage, the unqualified, highly intolerant head of the Reform party, who may become the next Prime Minister and who keeps on saying the opposite to falsely inflame UK public opinion. Yes, he's a pal of the U.S. president.

Trump doesn’t know if this was an “act of terror” yet, he’s just spreading fear and hate before facts are known—as usual. Maybe this was just a crazy person. And let’s not denigrate 1000s of Afghanis brought to US because they saved US soldiers in the Afghan War.

@profgalloway.com: the key to Trump’s 2024 election victory was podcasting. His appearance on Joe Rogan netted 55 million views. To get that much of an audience, Kamala Harris would have had to have gone on CNN, MSNBC & Fox every night for 3 hours for 2 weeks.
