this would mean half of registered california voters voted in an odd year special election with a single arcane proposition on the ballot
California has at least 2.7m ballots left to count, total turnout will be 11.5m+, higher than the 2022 midterms

We had fucking congressional hearings over Mortal Kombat.
There are no words for how evil this is

STOP having "conversations" with ChatGPT and START talking to your stuffed animals like a normal person
everyone needs to grow the fuck up and start playing pretend with toys
I strongly believe emphatically pro-immigration stances are one of the keys to not turning the entire planet into hell and it feels like relatively few (at least on a platform) are willing to admit this

this is like when someone calls their teacher mom by accident but it’s a reporter in the New York Times projecting it on everyone else
honestly doubt on if this drives any innovation there

Every month for the last 77 years, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has estimated Americans' unemployment rate

This streak dies tomorrow

Govt staff could not survey Americans about whether they're working or looking for work in Oct, the 1st time in 934 months

This blind spot will remain forever
Here's the planned BLS data release schedule for Nov 2025.

On Tues, it couldn't release Sept job openings, hires, layoffs and firings data.

This morning, it couldn't release 2025Q3 business Productivity and Costs data.

Tomorrow, it can't release Oct 2025 #JobsReport

"World's first potential trillionaire has killed 600,000 people, including 400,000 children" is the only headline that anyone should ever read about Elon Musk
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc
The Shutdown of U.S.A.I.D. Has Already Killed Hundreds of Thousands
The short documentary “Rovina’s Choice” tells the story of what goes when aid goes.

iirc their plan with that series was to find a new artist and put out new editions, but yeah that story was a lot

Also to be unfortunately blunt the debate within the Democratic Party is actually over something (to be racist against Palestinians for the 80th year in a row or to not be racist) and the debate within the Republican Party is on how hard to suck one man's cock for all time.

after reading this opinion, I’m comfortable saying that the court’s liberal justices are no longer behaving as if the court they sit on is legitimate and their dissents exist mostly to explain to future iterations of the judicial system why the court should never operate like this again
SCOTUS, on the shadow docket, just 6-3 permitted the regime to require sex-at-birth identifiers on passports.

Jackson, joined by Sotomayor and Kagan, dissents.

Fuck this illegitimate court.
