One of the best things about #StarTrek #LowerDecks was that they would go "hey, did you hear about that crazy shit the Enterprise crew got up to that one time?" and then go "but anyway, we've got our own crazy space shit to deal with." Give us more ships, with more crews to fall in love with.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

The healthiest thing we can do for the internet is get as many regular users as possible running their own websites. You could buy a domain and such, but a super easy starting point is to get a free subdomain of neocities.org, which is like geocities but existing now.

That's why with things like environmental regulations, right-wingers ONLY see it as an unjust enforcement rather than a public benefit, because government's only function to them is enforcement. It doesn't matter if it would make their lives better because in their opinion it's ALWAYS an imposition.

It's a fundamental disagreement in what the function of government should be. The right views government as a means of enforcement, and the left views government as a service by and for the public. That's why centrist positions fail, creating ineffective compromises that neither enforce nor serve.

It didn’t make her change her politics but it made her realize that the Right isn’t her friend. Too many of our politicians and pundits won’t even get that far because their comparative privilege allows them to ignore the vitriol and irrational spite that fuels the faction they want to win over.

The thing is Brianna Wu
holds a lot of the same stances that the “centrist” crowd does, but by nature of being trans she was forced to recognize that rational discourse with the Right isn’t possible. It took extended and continuous personal disrespect from her supposed allies to change her mind.
