Does Martin "Giant Haystacks" Ruane in Paul McCartney's somewhat forgettable promo movie 'Give my regards to Broad Street' qualify as Kaiju? He was the giant monster of my youth.

I think we know where this is going:
A tiny Stonehenge descends in This Is Spinal Tap.
Nemophila record a lot of cover versions as well as their own songs, including Babymetal's "Megitsune".
They just seem to have a lot more fun than most bands.

Forget the ECHR smokescreen, here is the real evidence that we haven’t truly brexited.
I only heard of Poppy thanks to Babymetal, so that's one of the things I love about collaborations - you end up going down a rabbit hole to something new.
A related rabbit hole brought me this ball of fire.

BRAND NEW Far Side from Gary Larson just dropped
a jazz club named "Club Gombe" with a chimpanzee band going nuts on stage and more chimps hooting and hollering at the tables. one empty table has a card on it reading "reserved for Jane Goodall"
Dominic Cummings looks almost photorealistic, but Boris and Nadine in the background are way off.
Plus he wasn't considered quite as unacceptable to Radio 3 as many other contemporary British composers.
There was a music teacher at one of the schools I went to who saw Britten as the greatest composer of all time and Peter Pears as the finest musician ever.
It took a while to overcome my negative reaction to his almost religious zeal.

NANCY PELOSI: We must find the next generation of Democratic leadership. Young, charismatic and exciting candidates who can energize the party. People that voters love because they're not 80 years old and sold out to big capital.

Libraries in Reform UK run Staffordshire are being forced to close.

They are refusing to hire much needed staff and refusing over time or paying for staff to be covered. This is resulting in libraries closing because of too few staff, despite there being available staff to cover.

I am being asked to tell my department which pieces of lab equipment should be supported with backup power because they expect rolling blackouts and brownouts in 2026 due to increased energy demands from AI. In case you're wondering how my day is going.

Given FindOutNow polls keep making news it's worth saying a bit more about their methodology.

Unlike other online pollsters it doesn't use a panel of people who've signed up to do polls. Instead they ask a small number of Qs to people playing the Pick my Postcode lottery. (Thread)

To add to the excellent points in the thread, they may be less *politically* less engaged but they also need to be on-line quite a lot. You don't get notified of a win you need to visit the page to find out across multiple draws a day.

"Polanski slammed” reports the Daily Express. The person doing that “slamming” is, err, Daily Express journalist Carole Malone.

And the reason? Because I want us to follow a science led public health approach to regulate drug use.
