Hey look, Israel broke the cease-fire, twice, in two different ways, within 24 hours - again.

NEW: Israel informed the UN it will permit only 300 aid trucks into Gaza daily, not the 600 mandated by the ceasefire it just signed.

Elon Musk is a white nationalist. Anyone who needs more data points to reach this conclusion is beyond help or persuasion.

If you buy, rent, service, or supercharge a Tesla you are supporting the most powerful white nationalist on earth. Period.

Also I recall very clearly covering the furore within lefty circles at Michael D endorsing “a critical yes” for Lisbon 2 after campaigning against Lisbon 1… don’t remember that coming up in his election campaign

Reading Thiel, Yarvin, Peterson et al. makes you realise what passes for intellectual iconoclasm these days is all absolute bollocks. Why anyone gives any of these people the time of day let alone credibility is baffling.

Added to which there is a policy of helping polluters to meet the standard for compliance, rather than prosecuting in the higher courts for repeat offenders.

This policy has worked for some businesses, but probably sends a message to others about polluting being consequence free.

3 agencies involved but none had the right remit.

EPA - Monitors 31 sites in 3,330km of Blackwater, but it happened elsewhere

Inland Fisheries - doesn’t have the forensic capacity for the testing needed.

Marine Institute - has that capacity, but only investigates disease, not pollution.

Q: Why was the person responsible for the Blackwater fish kill never found?

A: it wasn’t anybody’s job.

I talked to the heads of all the agencies involved in the investigation, about why the biggest pollution event in Irish history fell between the cracks.

Very interesting discussion on RTÉ radio one with Philip Boucher Hayes now about which agency does what in relation to water, fish, the environment. “That’s not our role” seems to be most of the answers #blackwaterfishkill

Ah, I know who you mean. She’s mentioned in the podcast, I’ve interviewed her a number of times. An incredibly brave person.

Yep. I have negative desire to use this garbage. I cannot understand the mindset of a person who thinks creative people would want something to be creative for them. If you don't want to create, why waste your time? Go do something else!

there’s this weird idea a lot of people seem to have about how all of us writers and artists must secretly want to use AI and are merely resisting temptation for ethical reasons, and like, no, it’s not hard for me to resist drinking the bowl of Piss With Glass In It actually

all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.
