So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is. Despite what some, including at DHS, are claiming, this video isn’t from a year ago in Chicago. It was Friday in Hoffman Estates, in my district, a street I’ve walked myself. It appears to show a child being violently detained by ICE. It’s real, and I’m demanding accountability.

Slavery ended, so Crow laws kept Black people under white people, even in freedom. Civil rights act was created, and things like this and highways being built in black neighborhoods, did the same thing as Crow laws did for post-slavery. Keeping black people “in their place” has always been the plan

A big part of why my mother didn't move to Atlanta was because Georgia has a horrifying habit of steeply undervaluing Black homes. They'd bought out an all Black HOA and the homes were devalued by an average of $20k EACH. Whites moved into it and did a little landscaping and the houses went up ~$50k
