At 77, who knows if she'd make it through one term? Average lifespan is around 80.
Wow! Not sure how that map doesn't show intent to racially gerrymander, but I don't suppose what looks obvious matters.

"Corporate wants you to spot the difference" 👀 #ncpol

The NCGA just dropped a newly proposed congressional map which aims to completely erode Black voting power in CD1. WDYT?
If the amount was so small, then why even take it?

for a moment, I thought, how can people support this?

and then the words of Omar El Akkad popped into my head: "One day, everyone will have always been against this"

#NCGOP leadership has confirmed they plan to rig the 2026 midterm elections by further gerrymandering Congressional District 1, the state's historic Black Belt district. This would give Republicans control of nearly 80% of North Carolina's Congressional delegation in a purple state. #NCpol
Republican math:

"But Louisiana is only 56 percent white, and 31 percent Black. Simple math should tell you that there should be at least two districts in Louisiana that are majority-minority."

If you read one article today, let it be this one.
Here's my full breakdown of yesterday's voting rights case, where the Supreme Court will likely say that overrepresntation of whites in Congress is constitutionally mandated.

Just finished reading. I appreciate you.
He wanted people to see it.
That's the year I moved here!
I attended a magnet HS. I'm NOT saying it never happened, but kids (actual teenagers) would have been shunned for less.
This the video where Vance infantilizes the Young Republicans by calling them "kids."

I know there was bigotry when I was growing up in the 90s, but my friends and I never made bigoted jokes. This is not normal behavior.
JD Vance dismisses Young Republicans who in a group chat said "I love Hitler" and joked about slavery and rape as "a bunch of kids" who "told stupid jokes" and adds that "most of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager and young adult, they're not on the internet."
This is the right video. bsky.app/profile/atru...

The text that the Bulwark states in the post is not what Vance says in the video.
He doesn't use the word "kids." This post is satire.
He doesn't address the Young Republicans' texts in the video. I guess this post is satire.
Most definitely.

He actually criticized deporting immigrants a year or two back because he realized the effect it would have on the economy. But he quickly shut up about it.

This entire argument by Louisiana and the conservatives questions are premised on an erasure of Congress’ enforcement power under the 14th & 15th Amendments.

Literally swinging for the fences to wipe out the premise for the legitimacy of Congress’ power to enact civil rights statutes.
