Tonight's Milky Way taken from Point Reyes, California. The frames were taken about 33 miles, as the pelican flies, from San francisco. Light the curvature of the Earth is weird!

The Milky Way vertically with some orange and yellow tints at the bottom. These are four 60 second exposures edited in Lightroom and Stitched together on my phone comma so there's definitely a better version on my laptop if I ever release it

It was around 50°. Thousands were fully nude, half nude, or wearing costumes.

A semantic point, I suppose, but the word "homeland" was not part of US govt nomenclature until after 9/11 & should be expunged.

To me it has the whiff of dystopia if not Nazism. Its roots are not deep in the culture.

Those whose jimmies would be rustled by its loss NEED their jimmies rustled imo.

I get the sense that Chicago might be a center of Cathoic resistance to ICE. Both because Pope Leo has signaled his support for protests, but also because there are a shitload of Bog Irish and Italian Catholics who can be called on to protest.

Nobody wants it as a story but I have multiple NYPD sources who voted for Mamdani, are eager for his win in November, and who say their colleagues quietly feel the same.

They like that he wants NYPD to focus on crime, not quality of life enforcement.

There are many other ways in which the kids are not all right. Widespread concerns about reading comprehension are valid and threaten democracy in other ways. But in terms of being broadly accepting of racial and sexual diversity, the game's over, and the libs won. 2/2
