110,100 men gave their lives in battle fighting for the Union and to defeat the Southern Oligarchs. Don’t let their deaths be in vain 160 years later. #Resist #History #USCivilWar #MartyrsForFreedom #USA

So much wrong with it, but one of the problems with these attacks on boats in the Caribbean is that the announcement doesn’t come from a government agency, it comes from the social media app owned by the president.

I thought they said it was wrong for an administration to ask a social media platform to take stuff down.

In 1857, the nativist American Party—aptly known as the Know-Nothings—attacked immigrants in US cities, sparking riots so severe that it led to their downfall. By 1860, the Know-Nothings lived up to their name: holding zero seats in Congress.

Let’s hope history repeats itself during the midterms.

🚨 The DSCC — led by Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Kelly, Adam Schiff, and Lisa Blunt Rochester — has formed a joint fundraising committee with Janet Mills.

Mills, running against Graham Platner in the Maine Democratic Senate primary, would become the oldest freshman (79) ever elected, to a 6-year term.

The House not only shouldn’t be getting paid for not showing up, Johnson should be receiving hefty fines every single day he has them out of session.

It really costs you nothing to be comfortable in the knowledge that you are imperfect, and will make mistakes, because then when you do the thing that will happen no matter whether you have previously allowed for it, you can just say oh my bad, yeah, dick move.

And fix it and move on.

When I was in high school, I posted definitions of the word "Fascism" on our community boards. A particular English teacher who was universally-reviled ran around tearing them down and screaming "look at what he's done!" It's funny how just defining terms can be like a kitchen light for the roaches.

Donald Trump thinks he’s all powerful. It’s up to us to remind him on October 18th that he’s not.

We will show him who really has the power in this country — and we will do it peacefully. nokings.org

It really feels like Sam Altman promised a lot of Very Serious Old People he was going to create capitalist blowjob jesus based off a tech demo, and now that the bottom’s falling out he’s throwing whatever he can think of at the wall to avoid getting disappeared because he wasted all their money.

It is highly irresponsible to refer to tear gas as “mustard gas”. They are unrelated and very different things.

Stevens: There’s $1.3 trillion of credit card debt. There are people putting grocery bills on credit cards and then paying interest on them. We are in an affordability crisis. Coffee is up 20%, beef is up 16%, bacon is up over 10%. And now we’re going to see health care costs skyrocket.

I covered politics as a reporter more than a decade ago.
I’m back in the swing and I have some news for you, America:
The divide isn’t political anymore — it’s ethical.
Corrupt or not.
That’s the line now.

Your enemies will tell you there is no point in fighting back. They tell you this to break your morale, but in so doing, they tell on themselves. They fear being stood up to, or else they would not work so hard to downplay it. If someone says fighting back doesn't matter, make it matter.

Nothing remotely resembling an insurrection is happening anywhere in the country. Any violence associated with protest has been isolated, mild, and, in nearly every case, instigated by federal law enforcement. If we let Trump get away with calling dissent an insurrection, our republic is over.
BREAKING: Trump Admin 'Seriously' Considering Using the Insurrection Act, Reports NBC
President Trump is "seriously" considering invoking the Insurrection Act in order to more easily deploy National Guard troops to major cities as part of crime crackdown, NBC reported on Wednesday
