Oh, my. There’s an auction of UK sewing, haberdashery and embroidery antiques including some WWI embroidery.

I can’t import it, but I hope someone who appreciates the lot gets it. (Examples of male embroidery are vanishingly rare, especially sentimental ones)

A birthday card and two pieces of embroidery from the early 20th century. The lower one has a cannon and several flags, and is dated 1915, with Ypres. The upper is in greens and purple florals, and reads To my Dear Boy From Your Loving Father.

I’m trying to figure out if that’s worse or better than having the same guy wearing a different disguises pretend to be members of various gangs.

One is just straight up lying, the other is doing a weird Mr Potato Head routine.

No, Wanker-Voyeur Johnson, you do not have PTSD from trying to repeal a law. You may have guilt, which you earned, or shame, which you also earned, but stop stolen valoring and claiming the job you made for yourself was trauma. That was all your own decision. You made that own goal.

MIKE JOHNSON: We worked on repealing and replacing Obamacare back in 2017. I still have PTSD from the experience. We know that American healthcare needs dramatic reform. We have lots of ideas.

I’m a potassium junkie. Too much salt means having to really up my already difficult to maintain K levels. I like the flavor of salt, and dislike the flavor of Lite (potassium chloride) Salt, so it’s a balancing act.

I tend not to buy things that way, since I can usually run a small test batch at home for about 20% of the purchase price, and worst case, I’m wasting a quarter-cup of almonds, not a cup.

It’s one of my weird habits I’ve fallen into with not doing recreational shopping or using restaurants anymore.

I have not liked ANYTHING Blue Diamond makes. Even the salted ones are too salty. (Part of the reason I was looking it up is because I need to figure out how to make a 1/3 salt version.)

Depends how you make the pickles. Remember, traditional pickles (and sauerkraut) start with nothing but salt and spices. (And labels of those pickles do not list vinegar because it’s a product of fermentation, not an ingredient.) There’s acid, but it’s not like cooked pickle vinegar acid.

Huh. Just looked up how to make roasted, salted almonds, and apparently the easiest method is make brine, soak raw almonds in brine, roast.

So… what if instead of brine, dill pickle juice?

There are plenty of reasons to boycott them.

Now they’re allowing ICE recruitment ads in their “commercials”.

They’ve bent a knee, and we should all cancel.

Autism $peaks raised ~$34m in 2024 and spent 1% on family services and grants to help Autistic individuals. They spend approximately 25% of their budget on lobbying and another 25% on research (primarily on genetic testing and causation, i.e. eugenics). They aren’t trying to make our lives better.

Autism $peaks is the largest and most popular Autism organization (among allistics), who continues to be 100% in support of ABA. They have lobbyists who push ABA as the “gold standard Autism treatment.” It utilizes same practices as “conversion therapy,” which is currently banned in 28 countries.

ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is the “gold standard” of “treatment” for Autism, and was created by the person as “Conversion therapy” (see Lovaas) with similar techniques and goals. It’s torture that continues to have widespread support and acceptance.

Correction, there was something I hadn’t heard, but that’s because I have ZERO interest in reality TV or television ad sales.

Apparently, Dominos was a sponsor for one season, and Papa Johns photobombed the episode by buying up ads for that specific episode.
