This is so sad. D’Angelo was a legend in every sense. His music carried spirit, depth, and truth. You could feel his soul in every note. A true artist, one of a kind. My heart goes out to his son, losing both parents within months of each other.

I haven’t seen their third film “Creature from the Haunted Sea” but I expect it to be very much the same. Also, these are almost parody films of sub genres within horror at the time, which are also moderately formulaic, so you can’t really fault these films for being so of the same cloth either

Twerpy Loser stumbles upon success by accidentally and then to varying degrees on purpose killing people in secret until it catches up with him horribly in a grand finale after an extended chase scene.

A Bucket of Blood was the first of Corman & Griffith’s 3 Horror Comedies so if you’re familiar with the original film for Little Shop of Horrors you’ll find the plot extremely similar though ABoB is quite a bit darker.

I’d probably watch A Bucket of Blood again but I will say the poster (the cartoon one) for the movie is much funnier than the movie the movie is honestly barely a comedy to me. I think goofy as the premise is it would’ve worked better as a play or played more as a straight proto-slasher

I prefer it to Little Shop of Horrors but I don’t particularly Like Little Shop of Horrors (the original movie, it’s not the worst but it’s not for me) (the 80s musical and musical movie I Despise).
