First generation self-propelled artillery 😍
A bit of a puzzler for me as I've never seen or heard of this thing before - but what appears to be a 150 mm Fabry Mortar M.17 mounted on a cut-down French Schneider CA1 chassis c.1918.
Läste du inlägget innan du började sprida okvädingsord omkring dig? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...och, nej, det finns ingen regel som säger att man måste gå över tidtabell och budget (framförallt inte med det dubbla) när man bygger komplicerade system. Framförallt inte med 120+ %.
Interesting brigade structure for the French.
Eine „kriegsbereite“ Brigade in Frankreich ist eine kampfbereite Brigade. Sie stellt die Einsatzfähigkeit der Landstreitkräfte bis zu den Einsatzgebieten sicher.

Now, I am only half-trolling when I say there is a timeline in which Finland by 2032 has more and better submarines in service than Sweden 😎
This is a really interesting read, regardless of whether you is the kind who usually is interested in African authoritarians or not!
The president (or maybe not president) of Madagascar—a radio DJ who overthrew the island’s yogurt kingpin in a coup d’état—just fled the country in a French helicopter after Gen Z protests. I wrote about the most interesting island you know nothing about, with bonus pictures of me with lemurs:
The yogurt kingpin, the radio DJ coup, and the most interesting island on Earth
Madagascar is a fascinating island home to 30+ million people. It's also home to bizarre, volatile politics that virtually nobody knows about. And the president just escaped on a helicopter.

Now the two A26 will arrive in 2031 and 2033. However, the Swedish Defence Commission in 2024 argued for deliveries of a Gotland-class replacement in 2038. This is now raising questions about that timeline, as that would require resources being transferred to that program within the next five years.
In 2021 came the first delay, with deliveries in 2027 and 2028. With one of the two sub that were to be replaced mothballed in 2021, the other was upgraded to serve on until 2028 to at least maintain a four-boat strong force together with the three Gotland-class which are to serve "into the 2030's".
2010 the government stated two submarines would be ordered to replace the two Södermanland-class submarines in 2018 and 2019. Five short years later in 2015 the A26 'Blekinge'-class was ordered for deliveries 2022 to 2024. These would be the first built in Sweden since the mid-90's Gotland-class.
Time from contract in 2015 to first delivery has gone from seven to 16 years (from 2022 to 2031, +128%)! At the same time, the budget has gone from 11.2 Bn SEK (inflation adjusted from the 8.4 Bn SEK in 2014 levels) to 25 Bn SEK (+123%).

That's bad.
Unfortunately, that text also included "the complete inability to get a grip of both the cost and the timeline eleven years after order also sends alarm bells going off, and further bad news feel like a very real possibility."

That happened this week.

Nu när Hamas istället för Israel dödar Gazabor antar jag att Palestinakommittéen och alla andra som protesterat mot kriget, inklusive Greta, går ut och börjar protestera mot Hamas?
There is a certain irony in KNDS presenting a tracked version of their wheeled RCH howitzer at AUSA, with Hanwha in turn presenting a wheeled version of their tracked K9A2 at the same event. It's almost like depending on your requirements wheels and tracks both have their benefits 🙃
Bad Neighbor is of Age of Empire 2-fame, a concept which would have been interesting to try and explain to its operators back in the Holy Land. ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Bad_Nei...

Part 2 of the 🇩🇰Arctic defence agreement was announced today with a budget of 27.4bn DKK (3.7bn EUR). The maritime part constitutes 22.3bn DKK or 81%, but also includes P-8 maritime patrol aircraft in cooperation with a NATO ally. 🇳🇴Norway is a good and logic candidate.
According to TV2 the new Part 2 of the Arctic defence agreement will include:

2 additional Arctic frigates (total 5)

Maritime Patrol aircraft (reportedly P-8)

Icebreaking “capacity”

Drones

Radars

New military HQ in Nuuk

Naval facilities in Nuuk

Army Arctic regiment

it's fun how every Trump tantrum about China has a 95 percent chance of blowing over in two weeks and a 5 percent chance of destroying the global economy.

This is extremely on point. If you want to know someone’s politics without asking them directly, you ask about their view of Macron 🤷‍♀️
How you view Emmanuel Macron depends on who you support politically:

- LFI: Macron is a fascist globalist elite bank baron
- PS: Emmanuel Macron is a right-wing capitalist & hates poor people
- Ensemble / Renaissance: Macron is a centrist
- LR: Macron is a socialist
- Far-right: Macron's a Commie
Is Macron regarded as centre right in France?

It’s pretty impressive that the NB8 - a group of small European countries - is now coordinating with G7
Interesting statement on the shadow fleet by an interesting group of countries from G7 and the Nordic-Baltic 8++: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, European Union, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Statement: Shadow Fleet Task Force
On October 8, 2025, Canada and Denmark convened a meeting of the Shadow Fleet Task Force.

I mean, the tank is the pinnacle of thousands of years of developing the ultimate fighting machine.

…which is also why the battlefield is filled with other systems specifically designed to kill it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Imagine driving around in your late-mark Pz III and then that thing open up on you and your buddies 😅

Not how Putin predicted year five of the war to be.
"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine and the European Union are on track to match Russia’s annual artillery-round production by 2026, as reported in an interview on October 9."
⚡️Zelenskyy says Ukraine and the EU will match—or even surpass—Russia’s artillery shell production by 2026.
