#OTD 12 October 1813 a Danish force under General Vichery defeated von Walmoden's troops at Rosengarten. The Jyske Regiment Lette Dragoner routed the 2nd "Black" Hussar Regiment of the Russo-German Legion inflicting 60 dead & wounded & 47 prisoners against 2 dead & 3 wounded.

In a surprise move 🇩🇰Denmark today changed the order with 🇸🇪BAE Systems Hägglunds to upgrade the existing 44 CV9035DK to acquire 44 new CV CV9035IIIC to create a uniform fleet of 159 CV9035IIIC for the 1st Brigade. A donation to 🇺🇦Ukraine of the old CV90 is not unlikely. www.fmn.dk/da/nyheder/2...

Part 2 of the 🇩🇰Arctic defence agreement was announced today with a budget of 27.4bn DKK (3.7bn EUR). The maritime part constitutes 22.3bn DKK or 81%, but also includes P-8 maritime patrol aircraft in cooperation with a NATO ally. 🇳🇴Norway is a good and logic candidate.

According to TV2 the new Part 2 of the Arctic defence agreement will include:

2 additional Arctic frigates (total 5)

Maritime Patrol aircraft (reportedly P-8)

Icebreaking “capacity”

Drones

Radars

New military HQ in Nuuk

Naval facilities in Nuuk

Army Arctic regiment

Today’s 🇩🇰decision to acquire 16 F-35 at a cost of 29bn DKK (3.9bn EUR) is the Low option and will not reach the originally planned 48. However, the High option discussed would take RDAF back to similar to the total F-16 fleet but at an almost prohibitive cost.

🇩🇰Denmark considers ordering 10-21 F-35A potentially bringing the total up to the originally planned 48. A very long way from the 128 at the end of the Cold War. Danish media Olfi speculates in F-35 deployment on 🇬🇱Greeland due to the planned acquisition of two tanker aircraft.

#OTD 7 October 1813 at Weisser Hirsch in Mecklenburg a force of the Danish Auxiliary Corps defeats troops from Freikorps von Lützow and Russian cossacks. Infantry from Slesvigske Infanteriregiment stopped the enemy, which was routed by two hussar squadrons.

Denmark has assigned two F-35 for air operations in Poland and Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and eastern Baltic Sea as part of the NATO operation Eastern Sentry. The Danish frigate F363 Niels Juel will also be deployed to the area.

The recent drone incidents in Denmark were almost exactly 3 years after drones flew near and above 🇩🇰Danish and 🇳🇴Norwegian oil & gas platforms. The large drones were most likely launched from Russian trawlers. Three years warning to act and prepare.

Danish Defence Intelligence Service (DDIS) has published an updated threat assessment and it is as expected if “conventional military threat” means invasion.

It also states “It is highly likely that the hybrid threat from Russia against NATO will increase in the coming years.”

According to Danish TV2 the ship yard to build the 4 🇩🇰 multi-purpose minelaying & environmental vessels has been selected - Karstensens Skibsværft in Skagen, which built the Knud Rasmussen Arctic patrol vessels for the Danish Navy

🇩🇰Danish, 🇸🇪Swedish and 🇳🇴Norwegian Police works closely together in Copenhagen to secure the EU Summit in a operation planned for a long time. In a similar way, the three police forces worked together at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden.
