That was gonna be my question, too
I keep getting a few paragraphs in and being like "gosh I wish this made me feel... anything?" 😩 But I'll give it another try. Maybe tomorrow. Hope springs eternal etc.
Idk if you're looking for short fiction reads, but @innerworlds.bsky.social is run by a fantastic person who explicitly rejects story submissions that use psychosis as a basis for evil/horrific actions

Anya’s writing is incredible and this class sounds so cool
Register today for Worldbuilding for Any Story with @adeniro.bsky.social. We will read writers such as Ursula LeGuin, Kelly Link, Jorge Luis Borges and Anna Kaval to explore how they create a sense of spatiality in their stories with just a few phrases and sentences. bit.ly/4o3zsfy
The kids are alright 👍🦄
I keep meaning to finish the Quiet 'Verse series but every time I get a couple paragraphs in and wind up backing out bc I wanna read it when I can actually enjoy it, not when I'm so, well... dead inside 😅😩
Norman Rockwell would never
Norman Rockwell painting of Ruby Bridges being escorted to school by US marshalls Norman Rockwell painting "Murder in Mississippi" depicting the murder of activists James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner by the KKK. Norman Rockwell painting The Right to Know, depicting a racially diverse population questioning their government. Norman Rockwell painting New Kids in the Neighborhood, depicting two children of the Black family moving in looking at three white children and a puppy.
If I figure it out I'll let you know

Today is publication day for NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND, my latest book from @wordhorde.bsky.social, so it seems serendipitous that I also got my author copies today!
Copies of NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND, stacked on a kitchen counter in front of a black cat vase wearing a witch's hat and full of seasonal flowers.

My latest book, an essay collection on queer tarot topics, has:
- Gay numbers!
- Expansive Interstitial Elements
- Wtf symbols even are and why they're all queer, actually

And so much more! Buy wherever you buy books.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, an activist who took part in Stonewall and remained an advocate for the decades that followed, including caring for AIDS patients & pioneering needle exchange & defending the rights of incarcerated trans people on both coasts, passed away. www.advocate.com/news/miss-ma...

The "cognitive decline and brain damage from repeat COVID infections" and "easy to use robot that makes slop and melts your critical thinking skills" is a hell of a combo in a post-fact media ecosystem

Reminder this holiday season that donating to the SA sucks. Ignore the red buckets.
The Salvation Army really is the epitome of a certain kind of white conservatism

They prey on the most vulnerable. They happily leave the sort of people they don't like to die in the streets

But they smile a lot and don't cuss and say "Jesus", so they get to be respectable
Is she already in art/illustration classes bc this is fucking incredible

Long Covid is more prevalent in children in the US now than asthma. We are fucking destroying the next generations w/our behavior. (And adults.)

If you do care about resisting eugenics maybe start by not being the vector that disables a kid in RFK’s US. That is not too much to ask. It really isn’t.
Yes and also I think for some (many?) it'll be impossible to keep up with the changing abilities of the technology. I've been practicing always checking the source before I share an image or info. A good habit to develop in any circumstances imo.
I genuinely cannot express how vital it is that you train yourself to recognize AI-generated images and videos for your own good because none of this is going away and many, many people are counting on you to fall for their shit
Good to know the prayer circle is having an effect *somewhere*! 😄
