I've been reading the Copyright Office instructions over and over... am I missing something? If you already published a book, and then you file for copyright (like, say, the next day), you pay $65 and you send a copy of the book. But if you copyright the manuscript before the book is published...

Very sad to see NBC Out go down. I know journalists who have worked there and it was home to some of the best in depth reporting on LGBTQ+ issues out there from a legacy media outlet.

Legacy media continues to abandon us, and it seems only we can tell our own stories these days.

California just banned employers from forcing workers to pay a debt, fee, or penalty to leave their job.

Bosses have increasingly been trapping workers with debts incurred in training and other exploitative fees.

Now that's illegal in the nation's biggest state.
