I’m going to try to do my 31 (minimum) horror movie thing again this year, though we’ll see if I make it.

I’ll also be putting up some recommendations for different flavors of horror and/or themed double features.

I usually start the month with some found footage stuff, out of tradition.

@sharonk.bsky.social ’s everything is gender theory remains undefeated
It is possible, albeit very convenient, that he did not know the meaning at the time.

It is not particularly credible that he did not recognize it at any time since then until he decided to run for Senate.

What is the Times doing calling this extrajudicial murder spree “cartel strikes”? On what evidence do they ape the killers’ propaganda?

Not simply fascism. Monarchism.

I think it’s good and important to spread the word about companies that are doing bad things and offer people alternatives to those companies that aren’t evil. I also think shouting “cancel that!” “Stop using that!” “Why are you still on that!” isn’t a great way to help ease people’s transitions.

Here is list of White House ballroom donors. Please do what you will with it.

We will be coming back to share more about the companies, as it relates to public health specifically.

The East Wing is totally gone. I can’t believe it

I think Democrats should run on a promise to demolish Trump's Epstein Memorial Ballroom should they win in 2028, tbh

Trans people are now functionally banned from the University of Virginia, the seventh university to do so.
Breaking News: The University of Virginia struck an agreement with the White House to remove the threat of a federal investigation, part of a Trump pressure campaign. It's the first public university to do so. nyti.ms/3Wgo2JR
You do not get brownie points for removing your goddamn Nazi tattoo -after it has already become a big deal-, years after you got it and well after you decided to run for a U.S. senate seat. This is insane.

I do buy he’s fond of socialism, though - maybe of the more national variety.
Doesn’t really address anything I said, but cool dramatic writing exercise, I guess?

“They” have not used this attack on every progressive because not every progressive has had a -fucking Nazi tattoo-

A lot of people on here who are super enthusiastic about Mamdani, say, consider this tattoo issue to be a dealbreaker. Maybe ask yourself why that is.

OK, so we get the state intervening in the market, but not in a socialist way, in a right-wing nationalist way that’s corrupt and corporatist. A social nationalism, if you will. We can workshop the name later.

The fourth paragraph is politically obtuse, framing this as a battle between Trump’s heartfelt desire to put an “imprint” on the White House versus “the sensibilities of many in Washington.” NO! This is an attack upon the citizenry at large and upon the basic principles of republican governance.
“Overplayed their hand” in what respect, exactly?

And “anti-establishment” without paying attention to any details is how you get Fetterman.
Okay, but like…did literally any of those other people have an -actual fucking Nazi tattoo-?

Leaving aside his personal opinions, do you realize how disastrous that is when running against a multi-term incumbent senator?
Democracy dies in darkness; The Washington Post dies in roughly two and a half years.
Some news: The Washington Post is preparing to cut newsroom staff even after several high profile exits. Bezos’ new opinion editor has privately told people The Post is in “severe financial distress.” Details in @status.news www.status.news/p/washington...

You don’t see how not dealing with your Nazi tattoo -until you decide to run for Senate- displays a colossal lack of judgement?

Also, “every progressive candidate gets called a Nazi”? Come on, man.
Reposted by Erin, on the side of caution
Will Lewis has destroyed the Post both reputationally and financially within *two years* of taking over. Now, let's not forget to give due credit to Bezos here but man, what a loser.
Right, but what you seem to be saying is “Nazi shit is fine so long as I like the policies he talks about“

Criticism of Israel is 100% warranted, but I should not need to explain why you can’t make that a central pillar of your campaign and then have an actual honest to God Nazi tattoo.
Regardless of whether he has actual Nazi sympathies, having an honest-to-god SS skull tattoo and not doing anything about it for years betrays a lack of judgment that is disqualifying.

At best, he exudes enormous Fetterman energy.
The time to grow and learn is probably some time in the twenty years before you announce you’re running for senate against a multi-term incumbent.
