I honestly think that @lanedraws.bsky.social knocked it out of the park, but this ebook edition doesn't do the full cover justice. The paperback will have the ENTIRE graphic including the back. But for now, the ebook is both economical and available for pre-order this very minute.

Releases 9/26.

If they were the physically perfect specimens that nazism insists they are you could still mock them for being Nazis.

Pro Tip: A good way to let your fat acquaintances know that you think they’re disgusting subhumans is to go on the internet and make fun of Nazi young Republicans for being fat instead of, you know, for being Nazis.

The funny thing is, several of these countries HAVE kings...but not ones that fuck them over.

Spain's current king even manages to look REALLY GOOD in a suit. Officially guardian of the Spanish Constitution... Got his job because his dad ABDICATED (which needed the approval of congress, because CONSTITUTION!)

Monarch that doesn't fuck over his country.

This post is doing big numbers but it’s worth noting this is *print* subscribers, which puts a totally different context on this.

(Last year during their cancellation kerfuffle they had about 2.5 million total subscriptions. The NYTimes has ~11 million total)

I tell folks repeatedly that the culture here is BLOCK. My posts about blocking as a first resort are my most popular. If you ever annoy me, I will walk away and you may not even notice my departure.

As it should be.

The parts of the process that involve toxic chemicals are isolated from the human workers and it’s a huge problem if these chemicals are released into the clean room.

An accident of this kind would be BAD. But you’re not going to run into the clean room and dive into an open vat of acid.
bmcnett.bsky.social
I should clarify. It’s not that there are no toxic chemicals involved in chip manufacturing. There are plenty of them. But the suits aren’t worn to protect the workers from the chemicals. They’re protecting the ROOM from the workers who otherwise would introduce contamination to the chips.

“Clean” autocarrot is a menace.

Preach it. How It’s Made is a must watch. You’ll at least get the basics of what an automated assembly line does.

I remember reading a book in which a character “suicidally” entered a clean room where some advanced semiconductors were being fabricated.

They died horribly in the toxic environment in which everyone else was suited up for their protection.

People suit up in a Clem room to protect THE CLEAN ROOM.

More writers need to watch all the seasons of HOW IT'S MADE because they for whatever reason have NO idea how the world works, or how things work, or how things work in the world, and then it shows up in their fiction and makes me yell and swear and pace and weep and rend my clothes in despair.

When you enshittify social media you endumben the social discourse, and elevate the idiot to the level of pundit.

This will continue to work right up until the moment it doesn't and we realize it never did.

My hot take is that none of these are structure. These are all recipes that describe structure.

Structure is the Salt, Fat, Acid Heat of writing.

3-Act/Hero's Journey etc are recipes.

You can make great meals without using a recipe if you understand the principles of structure.
ddwardiswriting.bsky.social
So #WritingCommunity how do we feel about structure?

Do you use the 3 act structure? The 5 act?

Hero's Journey? Save the Cat? Super Structure Method? Story Genius Method?

Something else?

What have you got?

In 2025, you have to be at a minimum willingly blind to not see that these are Nazis in word and deed. The fascist makes human virtue a crime. They've as much as told us that empathy is sin.

Sometimes it really is as simple as good vs. evil.
The Crime of Human Virtue
Sometimes it really is as simple as good vs. evil. This is one of those times. Human virtue is our great crime against the fascist project; it's also our great weapon against it.

What Fr Dowling is doing here was not just "offering communion to detainees". A full on Eucharistic Procession is a really fucking big deal. In Catholic theological framing, those folks were the honor guard with the very great privilege of escorting Jesus himself to the detention center.

Psst:

A reminder for American writers: High tea is not fancier tea, it’s supper. It’s a more substantial meal with a main dish, rather than tea, biscuits, scones, little snack foods. And it’s high because it’s served on a high table — dining table height — not a low, tea or coffee table.

It's kinda weird really. Okay, very weird.

I've sold a sum total of "I'm kinda disappointed with this number" of books since launch. I'd like to sell a slightly less disappointing number of books, but book promotion really isn't my thing. Long-term I'm just going to have to write more, but until then...

BUY MY BOOK! It's a fun read. Honest!

Get up and do the thing. No, I don't know what the thing is — that's all you. YOU know what the thing is you need/want to do. Go do it. Do it well, or do it badly, just get it done.

Only then can you say you did the thing.

I really enjoyed having a follower character. With a mage as my main, I got The Great Akazamzarak. I really miss that goblin, and I wonder whatever happened to all those folks.

Oh yes, all the cats adore pets. The one in the picture curls up on mom's lap while she's in her easy chair.
