Those Young Republicans on the group chat weren’t kids. Tamir Rice was a kid. The Exonerated Five were kids. The girls on Epstein Island were kids.
We're just bombarded by the most willfully dogshit-stupid nonsense every single day.
Dr Oz: "You'll notice, President Trump, these are discounted from $242 to $10. I don't know what the math is on that. We can't even calculate it. It's too high to calculate."

we know jacob frey uses one phone because he famously gave his number out left and right when he was running for mayor in 2017, telling people to contact him for anything, and he would have conversations, like with @jasoncomix.bsky.social

most of us got blocked by him after amir locke was killed
We all know the feeling of maxing out the text message space on our phone and having to delete them all — routinely.

The mayor routinely deletes “a lot” of his text messages, Peters said, saying he's allowed to delete those that are transitory. The mayor uses just one cell phone – his personal one, she said, and "that's a lot to have on a phone" if he didn't routinely delete some of them.

Also, things you notice in a chronological Coens rewatch: Judith Gopnik has retained the same divorce law firm as Clooney's wife in Burn After Reading - Tuchman Marsh.
This is on the NE corner of 36th & Hennepin, across from the entrance to Lakewood Cemetery.
In a still from the film A Serious Man, a late-60s sedan passes in front of a small building with the sign GREAT BEAR DENTAL and the address number 3553.
Rewatching A Serious Man for the 1st time in years to keep up with @blankcheck.bsky.social. I had never noticed that the dentist's office in the parable of the goy's teeth is the optometrist's at the end of the block I lived on from 2002-2006! I caught the bus to grad school in front of it.

At the Ward 8 for a New Mayor rally last Saturday, Commissioner Angela Conley said the county's been trying to work with the mayor on homelessness for seven years and he's shut them out.
frey is talking about working with county partners extensively…

Trump allies have used Kirk's death as a springboard for acting on Trump's longtime vows of retribution against his political foes. Charlie Kirk’s podcast is the forum they’re using to broadcast those schemes.

First image: the little kid from Twilight Zone: The Movie, Joe Dante segment "It's a Good Life" saying "I'm wishing you into Cartoon Land"
Second image: the cursed boar god Nago from Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke, screaming in pain and fury as worms writhe from his flesh before he resumes trying to eviscerate every human he sees. This is one of the victim characters of the movie.

Increasingly we need candidates who'd be comfortable cutting a wrestling promo
Mamdani: "I just want to speak directly to the president. I will not be a mayor like Mayor Adams who will call you to stay out of jail. I won't be a disgraced governor like Andrew Cuomo who will call you to ask how to win this election. I can do those things on my own."
This reminds me of an excellent chapter in World War Z.

"I once met a former bodyguard of one billionaire with his own "bunker", who told me his security team's first priority, if this really did happen, would be to eliminate said boss and get in the bunker themselves. And he didn't seem to be joking."
Tech billionaires seem to be doom prepping. Should we be worried?

I think the wealthy of this town are trying to rewrite history with their Precarious State circle jerk on all their corporate stations & papers

I think they don't want us to realize our PBS is telling the accurate history of Mayors & Cops in this town.

I'd argue that Fateh's experience in the legislature and ability to collaborate sets him apart from Frey, and that he hasn't exhibited the pettiness that is Frey's m.o. That Fateh has won endorsements from a range of fellow DFLers from the expected lefties to John Hoffman is to his credit.
I looked it up now. Wild stuff.
