Leunea monologuing:

Lines and lines of black and white would come first, and then the shades and shades, and then the shelves and shelves, but all in due time, and soon enough. I may not like writing by hand, but illustration is another matter, especially when I am dealing with the subject of the subject of a digital shadow. Drawing with my own hand, and thus casting a shadow over the surface below, is the most honest way to bring the subject of the subject into my own local context by fully realizing it as well as I possibly can, in order to finally and initially order and to finally and initially understand.

Leunea monologuing:

It was necessary that this step came after the conversation, because if I had illustrated the subject of the subject of the digital shadow first, the subject of the subject would have been already within my context far removed from its original context and thus would have been a layer of subject in the wrong direction, on the other side of the digital shadow. Seriously and solemnly, I drew the first arc: small, dark, a mound to contain the spirit. A larger arc shoots across westward, far across the total composition, landing upon the void of a future leaf. I complete the outer form, the massive physical encapsulation, with large vortexes like black holes. And I bestow upon the smaller, thinking, feeling mound, the head, a set of eyes, dark and limitless as the expanse of the soul, to mark the sadness I saw in the most-and-least-real context of the subject of the subject. This was the most specific aspect, and it needed to be exactly right, and yet it was the one I was most self-assured about because these eyes were the reason I decided to go through this process with this digital shadow in particular. I knew those eyes, I knew them deeply and I knew them truly, and I knew I could do them justice, and I did just that. Everything else flowed into place from there: the antennae, the feet, the ferns, and finally the shades and shades. Shadows descended upon the white void that was left until I knew it was the subject of the subject of the digital shadow with which I had almost lost myself in the previous step, and at that point I was satisfied.

It was finally time to capture the digital shadow itself.

Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.
