refreshingly normal political obsession frankly
I think Pritzker is very affected by his religion’s teaching on social justice and providing for the community. His family’s history too. He’s also kind of obsessed with Abraham Lincoln (there are worse people to be obsessed with).

He is wielding a one handed arming sword and shield. A drawing of a woman in scale, plate and mail armor, with blue and brown cloths and a red hat. She is wielding a sword and shield. We constantly talk about Dems' struggles to reach deeper into the culture and access people who ignore politics.

You know what issue is penetrating deep into the culture? ICE's masked raids and kidnappings! It's on Rogan and in country music. In the Manosphere!

Finished Battle Cry of Freedom—incredible book, surely the best single-volume account of the Civil War, it's more than earned canonization. So remarkable to make a 900pg book this detail-rich & yet still obviously a condensation of an even larger knowledge base

Great article about Patlabor 2 and the martial law sequence.
Mamoru Oshii planned it. A young Satoshi Kon took the lead on its layouts. The result: a stunning moment from Patlabor 2.

We're looking inside the film's martial law sequence, including storyboards and production art:

I'd really appreciate if writers these days took a look at their characters doing therapyspeak and whether that's appropriate for their work and their world.

By "therapyspeak" I mean speaking like this: "This is the emotion I'm feeling, and feeling that emotion makes me want to act in a way"

Whose golden touch could soften steel and stones,
Make tigers tame and huge leviathans

it's hard to get mad at Kamala over anything except Gaza because otherwise the party treated her horribly and she nearly saved them from oblivion anyway
The other fun one is where people retcon the joe biden being forced out by leftist posters rather than like a bunch of dem insiders leaking to the times axios and other rags starting early spring 2024. like pelosi was leaking this shit by march and most of the ones pushing it early didnt want harris

Etch this into stone at every public policy MA program in America:
Genuinely embarrassing that no senior leaders I interact with actually read anything (yes this also applies to Biden appointees). No one responds to emails, no one reads past two sentences, no one does anything. The rest of the Pentagon follows along.

Unsounded's sequel "The Red Cost" starts on January 5th with a drop of the full 26 page prologue, as an appetizer. Over half-way done with it and having way too much fun with blood and guts and sorcery, my beloveds.
15 pages so far!

It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol
Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”
