Is protesting all there is? No, of course not. But christ some people are so determined to shit on every single thing that isn't The Magical Solution to everything.

A public display of dissent is valuable. To the WORLD, if nothing else. A lot of the world thinks we aren't resisting at all.

COMMUNITY is an achievement. You cannot organize and take action in your community alone, you need people to organize with. Where are you going to find those people? Well a giant fucking crowd of people out protesting the shit you don't want seems like a better place to start than your local bar.

Making it normal to protest is a valuable achievement. Taking a bunch of folks who are not activists and introducing them to organizations that conduct daily actions for change is a valuable achievement. Showing Fox News viewers that a bunch of white people don't like this shit is an achievement.

Can I ask, what did the No Kings protest actually accomplish? I mean, in real terms, what have these protests materially changed? I can't help but feel these one off protests are merely a heatsink for energy and anger rather than a path for meaningful change and disruption of the system.
