iHeart Media has laid off another round of people nationwide, including AJ Mansour, Vice President of Business Development at 100.3 KFAN. These layoffs seem to be primarily targeting people who are older (although not exclusively) and I hear that some EEOC lawsuits are likely to be filed

Minneapolis Fire Department helped a guy stuck on the riverbank who could make a phone call from his watch but had no idea where he was or what happened

October 11, 2025
At approximately 8:24 pm, fire crew were dispatched to an adult male calling from his
watch stating that he thinks he fell down a steep riverbank and was stuck in a bunch of
brush and trees but does not know his location. Caller said he was at east river flats
park earlier but doesn’t remember what happened after that. Fire crews and University
of Minnesota Police (UMNPD) responded to the area and worked to locate the male.
They used sirens, spotlights and UMNPD’s infrared lights to try to locate the male
buried deep in the steep river bluff. Fire crews set up a rescue rope static line and
repelled approximately 20 feet down the embankment to reach the male. Minneapolis
Fire Rescue Boat 19 was launched in the river to pick up the victim at the lower
riverbank versus pulling the injured male back up the steep embankment. Fire crews
packaged the male in a rescue basket and loaded him into the boat. The male was
transferred to HCMC paramedics waiting on the U of MN shoreline near the rowing club.
The male was in stable condition and transported to the nearby hospital for medical
evaluation. No rescue personnel injuries were report.

Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.

By the way: Isn't it time somebody released (or leaked) Tilda, the HBO pilot that starred Diane Keaton as a Nikki Finke-like gossip columnist? Also with, I believe, Elliot Page, Wes Bentley, Jason Patric, Sanaa Lathan. 2011, many cooks inc. Bill Condon, at least two versions.
